Reviews of Brownsville Road House: Bed & Breakfast
"Wonderful stay. Stayed in blue room. Very comfortable. Bob was a fantastic host. Showed me around the historic house and grounds. Great breakfast. Was lucky enough to be the only lodger on this Sunday night. Gave me a great chance to have extended conversation with Bob, who has a very fascinating and intersting background and personal experiences. So glad I booked my stay here."
"My husband and I stayed at the Brownsville Road Bed and Breakfast as a nice little getaway for my birthday. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and it truly set the bar high. The house is stunning and full of so much history. We stayed in the blue room and it had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere with the attached bathroom being the original bathroom to the house. The owner, Bob, was so welcoming. He sat out on the front porch with us and we chatted like old friends. In the morning he served us a delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Bob puts his all into this bed and breakfast and it truly shows. It was a wonderful experience!"
"My wife wanted to stay at the Brownsville Roadhouse after reading Bob Cranmer's book about the house, so we booked a one night stay in the Blue Room. The house is beautiful and well kept. There are historical photos, portraits, trinkets, and paintings throughout the house that are very interesting. We were able to enjoy a nice fall evening on the front porch with Bob. We talked about the house, his book, and his time as County Commissioner. Breakfast was great, and Bob was the perfect host. The house is minutes from Downtown if you're visiting for a concert or sporting event. Highly recommend!"
"Our family traveled to Pittsburgh this past weekend to watch the Yankees vs Pirates game. We stayed at the Brownsville Road House B&B and enjoyed everything this historic house has to offer. Bob was an amazing host, welcomed us with a smile, showed us to our rooms and gave us a little history on his B&B. The B&B is in a great location if you need to get into the city and about 15 minutes from Station Square. Our family actually had the entire house, and it was super accommodating for our needs. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and prepared for everyone in mind; Bob even made sure to accommodate a nut allergy. Pittsburgh is one of our favorite places to visit and so happy and thankful we were able to find this little gem. We will definitely be visiting again. And will recommend to any of our family/friends. Thank you Bob for allowing us to make memories at the Brownsville Road House B&B."
"My wife and I came to Pittsburgh for a weekend trip for the football game and to see the city. Absolutely loved our 3 night stay! Everything about it! The room was great, we stayed in the Nautical Room. The food was great, my wife has nut allergies and another guest had gluten allergies and he was very aware of them and did his best to work with everyone and what they needed. The décor was great, American history theme. The service was great, we had to check in late due to travel and Bob was very accommodating with working around it. Bob was very nice and friendly, he worked in Pittsburgh government and has stories to tell, he also has the shovel that was at the groundbreaking of the football stadium! We have already decided that the next time we are in town we are gonna stay! We would 100% recommend staying here if possible. It's only 20 minutes outside of the downtown area and really accessible to anywhere you want to go that around Pittsburgh. And although people will tell you Pittsburgh driving is really bad, it's not as bad as I thought. If you have driven in any big city this won't be a problem. And the location of the Brownsville House makes it even easier to get in and out of the city as well."
