Reviews of pucciManuli
"The store is quite beautiful and the items inside are unique and well curated. That said, it was very uncomfortable to actually shop in the store as you were literally being watched and questioned by the many store employees. Upon entering, after the door was unlocked for us, we were asked what brings us in today, and continued to be followed and watched the entire visit. It was not welcoming or inclusive, and sadly I will shop at other local stores in the future."
"The owner was extremely rude to my wife. My wife very politely requested that the store wrap her purchase. That is a service that routinely offer here. The woman snottily replied “we do expect people to say please and thank you.” My wife’s request was totally politely phrased and expressed. I don’t recall if it lacked the specific word “please” or not. A “thank you” would have been forthcoming. My wife, being an adult did not feel like having an unsolicited lesson in manners from this stranger and was rightfully irritated by this statement. My wife requested that the item not be wrapped after all. The owner had not started wrapping the item but insisted on doing so anyway for some weird reason stating “you can unwrap it yourself later.” Her behavior was off-putting. The woman came off like a snotty impudent child. We decided to cancel the purchase. The woman kept repeatedly saying “have a happy thanksgiving” in a creepy overly saccharine tone. It was totally obnoxious and strange. She isn’t right in the head. In other responses the owner has repeatedly stated that “this store isn’t for everyone.” I more than agree. In fact this store isn’t for *anyone*. As another matter, the store is extremely overpriced. Small stuffed toys here are routinely priced at over $80. Everything we were planning on purchasing was available for way cheaper on Amazon. I noticed in an another response that the owner claimed that employees had multiple complaints about our party. That was a total fabrication. She is trying to save face. It is sad. There was one other employee present, and she was standing elsewhere in the store. What are these supposed complaints about, lady? Please detail them. I am very curious. In the responses to her many complaints, the owner loved to throw around that she runs a “small business” like that is something special to consider. Being a small business owner does not excuse her from being civil to her clientele. Maybe she should actually provide a service to the public instead of simply marking up a bunch of dolls she bought online while behaving entitled and rude to her customers. I should state that the young women who also work in the store are always super friendly and helpful. I imagine that this lady is a nightmare to work for. Maybe that explains the high turnover. I have never seen the same staff there twice. Edit: I see your response. I specifically asked what these supposed “several complaints” about “bad behavior” from my party were. You did not address my question. What are they? I am waiting. There was no statement made while we were there about “money excusing bad behavior.” This is a fabrication. You have quite an imagination."
"This shoppe is a gem! The unparalleled and thoughtful selection of imported and beautifully crafted toys and gifts for all ages has never disappointed. Whether over the phone or in store, I always get help finding exactly what I'm looking for. Carrie, the owner, and her staff go above and beyond to make this shoppe an experience full of wonder that you will want to return to again and again. Can't forget to mention the meticulous and complimentary gift wrapping! Most importantly, making a difference by giving back to the community and children in need has made this shoppe my #1 go-to for gifting year round."
"Today I decided to visit this store to purchase a gift for my friends sons’ first birthday. Upon entry, we noticed the door on the side was locked and we had to use the front doors. We went to the front doors, and that was locked as well. I waited, because we saw people in the store actively shopping. Upon waiting, an employee let us in and greeted us with “Patience is a virtue my friend” and “What does the sign say?”. With such a rude encounter and greeting, we decided to take our business elsewhere. I often try to support small businesses, and avoid larger names such as Target, etc but acts of kindness go a long way. I will not be visiting this store again and would recommend they revisit their policies on entrances and customer satisfaction. Edit: Thank you for the reply, “deliberately trying to disparage a small business simply because you didn't like/understand the way you were greeted. Thanks again for your review Dylan”. Across reviews, it seems I am not the only one that has had this issue. It is quite bold to state I am disparaging a small business because of how I am greeted. Businesses small or large rely heavily on great customer service, and not being rude/condescending to customers. Gabriela & I were both excited to visit this shop, and extremely disappointed and felt disrespected. Best of luck!"
"Great for gift shopping. Unique toys, home decor, books, journals, puzzles, games. Dream-like setting. This store will survive in Hamburg, Vienna, maybe even Copenhagen. As a gift shop. If seen narrowly as a toy store, any midsized German city has a wider selection with design and craftsmanship to impress. But within the US east coast context, this store is a true gem."
