"Had a horrible experience with 2 trainers (a man and a woman) from K-9 Kollege in baker park In Frederick today. I was walking my dog on a leash in baker park when we passed an aggressive Rottweiler. The owner was unable to control his dog and while he stood there struggling to hold the leash, both trainers stood by watching until the man dropped the leash and allowed the aggressive Rottweiler to charge us. Luckily our dog is very friendly and WE were able to keep the other dog calm(ish) until one of the trainers slowly walked over and grabbed his leash at which point the Rottweiler started becoming aggressive again. After the the trainer grabbed the leash he was was still struggling to prevent the dog from ripping the leash from his hands. My husband was upset as this is a public park with TONS of other leashed dogs and children running around and yelled at him “to get control of his dog”. Instead of being apologetic, or acknowledging that being in a crowded public park with a HUGE aggressive dog they could not control was not ok, the trainer started aggressively yelling at my husband if “he wanted to have words with him”….while still struggling with the dog! In no way do I blame the dog or the owner who clearly was trying to do the right thing by getting him trained. However these two “trainers” clearly didn’t know what they were doing, were not in control of the dog and were posing a threat to not only everyone in the park but also to the dog. Additionally, the trainer tried to start a fight with my husband. Unfortunate things happen all the time and how you handle them is what’s important. After this unfortunate incident with k-9 kollege I would never use their services or recommend their business to anyone. If you see their car parked at baker park, be alert and stay away."
