"couldn't ask for a better school! Makes moving to the suburbs well worth it!"
"My kids have gone to Ying Hua for over 7 years now. Hands down this is the best money can buy private education in Mercer County. I travel from Pennsylvania all the way to Princeton every day and I have no regrets of doing so. It's 45 minutes each way and I would do it all over again. The diversity of the school is fantastic, students and parents come from all backgrounds, races, ethnicities and religions. My children are learning Mandarin in a full immersion program and they're one of the few schools in the area that offer an International Baccalaureate program. Ying Hua has a top shelf STEM program and they have a great arts program as well. The Headmaster Joy Zhou really cares for the students and the teachers and that is felt throughout the school. If you're interested in preparing your kids for the future this is a school that is an absolute "must visit" and deserves serious consideration when thinking about which school would be best for your child."
"Yinghua is a beautiful school - one of the best in the area for so many reasons. There are so many beautiful and great things about the School it is hard to know where to begin. The diversity. The inquiry method. The after care. The free summer camp. The K-8 model. The ability to make children truly multilingual. The school utilizes the ERB testing model rather than the PARCC - THE ERB is the International standard of testing and allows parents and students to see how they are doing relative to a global world of need for skills and innovation. The school does not overtest and when they do they use a test that allows parents and children to see how they are doing globally as compared to students all around the world. The school does not allow testing to prohibit children from speaking more than one language as is the issue with such a strong focus on English-language testing in other schools and districts. For this reason it attracts a tremendous amount of professional parents and their children with international work experience who want to ensure that if they come to the U.S. from another country or leave the U.S.for another job they and their children will be prepared to learn and contribute anywhere in the world. Many of the teachers in the school have their own children in the school and have taken tremendous pay cuts to be able to teach there and are not there for the money. The after care is run by teachers who work until 630 This is unheard of anywhere else after care of quality run by actual teachers. The school's k-8 model preserves childhood for learning not texting and is kind and does not push adolescence or allow the cell phones to be on as is permitted in our local middle and high schools. It is a loving, community-oriented place and all children are worked with if parents are willing to give the school Time to work. Over time children become both multilingual and have high reading and math scores in English. Yinghua is the most responsive school we have ever seen. In that regard it is like concierge heath care in education for the truly middle class. It is truly a middle class private school and when you Email a teacher about anything you immediately get a response. This is not even allowed in the local public Schools to email a teacher directly. For this reason there is no reason for folks to be posting anonymous criticism here. The school is the most diverse school in the area -with a mix of children from literally all income levels, single parents, black, latino, asian, jewish, muslim- it is the most diverse school we have ever seen. They walk the walk and really offer a level of diversity and professionalism and a lack of bias that you cannot find anywhere in our area or in NJ for that matter. Our local public schools -like public schools across the U.S.- are less diverse than they have ever been, in some ways more segregated than ever even though they constantly claim to be 'diverse' Yinghua's beautiful diversity -this aspiration of diversity realized with financial aid and with Teslas in the parking lot is incredibly motivating as our local politicians and our neighbors fight affordable housing for the disabled, as our local public schools struggle with handling of black and latino and other groups. Yinghua promotes values of education AND community that often are lacking in upper middle class public schools. There are dyslexic kids who participate in its free summer camp program who will also speak 3 languages by the time they are middle school age an incredible feat... just incredible given how children with dyslexia struggle with language acquisition. The free summer camp is truly free and truly extends the school year is a model that should be implemented all over. Yinghua's after-care program is the best in the area, open to all not just Yinghua students to extend the school day to offer the amount of school time children in the U.S. should receive. It should be a model for other schools in the area, including local Charters who charge a fee for their summer camps and call them public."
"A very well-rounded and forward looking curriculum. Great community of educators and parents. Since 2008 all of our children have been enrolled at YHIS and have benefited enormously from their unique combination of the IB inquiry based curriculum , dual language immersion, attentive, nurturing teachers and manageable class sizes. Moreover, very affordable for a Princeton area private school. An outstanding value."
"If you value bi-lingual education, experiential learning and preparing your child for a global world, you owe it to yourself to come and learn more about this school. When you do you will see children of ALL ethnic backgrounds excelling at reading, writing and speaking mandarin AND ENGLISH. You will witness children as young as 3 making bi-lingual presentations to large groups of people. You will learn how Ying Hua is teaching math and science in a way that will set your child(ren) apart from a majority of their piers at other schools. You will experience students developing themselves into WELL ROUNDED individuals who play instruments, stay physically fit, learn how to care for and value the planet they live on and learn social skills that are so vital to a happy and successful person. Finally you will find a close knit community of families, teachers and administrators who all work together to create a safe and enriching environment for our children. Ying Hua is truly a unique school and as a parent of two enrolled children, I trust you will be equally impressed. But don't take my word for it! Come and check it out yourself!"
