Reviews of Bordentown Regional High School
"I must say the staff in this school is very efficient and dedicated. They helped me with a last minute transfer of my daugther. I have high respect for them."
"Came here to see a live play put on by the highschool, these kids acted their hearts out and the show was amazing. Overall the school is very new and kept up. The inside was clean and the restrooms were very nice. The staff at the door checked me in extremely quickly and the place was kept at the perfect temperature."
"The "education" here is a combination of non-existent and worthless. The teachers don't teach, and the guidance counselors neither guide nor counsel. Administrators aggrandize their extremely limited classes, e.g. they only offer Spanish or French, but they promote having a "World Language Department" because when it's time to collect funding, that sounds better than a "Minor Portion of Southwest Europe Language Department". It's mostly just a 4-year teenager babysitting service. Bullying and cheating are epidemic, but they are frequently overlooked, especially when committed by honor roll students or favored sports leaders, as they are protected. Instead, they place all blame on the victims. Teachers are uncaring about anything other than getting their tenure and collecting their paychecks. They generally just parrot the words and concepts in the textbooks; if you ask questions about advanced real world issues, they are often completely clueless and unwilling to extend any additional effort to help you learn. Any pupil showing any creativity or uniqueness will promptly be stifled. Students' time would be much better spent just sitting at home and reading Wikipedia. If you have a child who isn't very intelligent, this is the place to send them. I have seen class valedictorians here who could barely compose a basic sentence without making any grammatical or spelling errors. Just tell your kids to be polite and keep kissing the teachers' butts, and the teachers will merrily continue promoting them forward. The students may not know anything when they're done, but they will very likely graduate, possibly even with good grades. If you doubt my words, just look at the state public school rankings. Of approximately 325 schools in New Jersey, BRHS usually garners a rank around 200th, placing it in the worst four-fifths. Humorous side note: The previous school was across the street from a landfill, and this one is across the street from a prison, appropriate because it feels somewhat like a combination of the two."
"Nothing gets done about repeated bullying. My daughter comes home not wanting to go to school, and another friend is looking into changing schools because of the same girl. You report it to the office and they don't call you back and it never gets resolved."
"ATTENTION: bus drivers, faculty, staff, parents, guardians, and student drivers - please be mindful of other individuals who drive near and around the campus. far too often i witness careless driving, reckless driving, or downright IGNORANT driving. nobody ever actually STOPS at ANY STOP SIGN! nearly EVERYONE simply just pulls out onto Ward Avenue without ever taking their foot off the gas pedal and NEVER looking for other traffic. it's surprising more accidents don't occur at that corner. my coworker was t-boned by some ignorant parent last year and it was 100% the parents fault. they failed to STOP at a STOP SIGN and then just floored it, plowing into and TOTALING his Toyota. he still limps because of that butthead. and the school bus drivers are the MOST witnessed offenders. they drive as if they are in a funeral procession; all others MUST yield to them. i thought THEY were supposed to be the extra cautious ones, but it's difficult not to notice the daily cavalcade of BAD drivers. thanks."
