Reviews of Sussex County Technical School
"Oh there once was a hero named ragnar the red who came riding to whiterun from old rorikstead And the braggard named ragnar did brandish his blade as he told of bold battles and gold he had made But then he went quiet did ragnar the red as he met the shieldmaiden matilda who said Oh you talk and you lie and you drink all our mead now I think its high time that you lie down and bleed So then came the clashing and slashing of steel as the brave lass Matilda charges in full of zeal And the braggard named ragnar was boastful no more When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor"
"I don't even consider myself alumni. Since I've been out of this school, my mental health has been 10000x better. I could go on about teachers and administration that were straight up racist but I'm not going to waste anymore time with this school."
"Worst school I have ever been to. There’s far and few teachers that actually care about your child’s education. Besides from being THREATENED by a teacher, the kids are terrible too. If you want your child to go anywhere in life I recommend any other school. The hype about this school is that you have to be accepted, if you look into any other high school 90% of them have triple the electives. If you want your child to do good and genuinely be happy, allow them to explore fields instead of tying them down to one for 4 years. :)."
"So far the school is pretty good even with Covid but I wish there where more possible non-sport activities around regardless like choir, marching band, or orchestra since yes I know, the name says TECHNICAL so of course that isn't going to really fit in but when I was little I wanted to at least be in marching band. But I still love the school and I wouldn't know where I'd be without it, for real. I definitely recommend it if you are unsure if you want to go since at least the shops are awesome especially if you are in culinary since you get a lot of knowledge, get certified with serf safe, free stuff, and plus the chefs can help you pretty much get a job anywhere in the country. I do recommend though not doing any honors classes freshman year ( what I'm doing) since it can be a TON of stress and that it is best to get used to the regular classes you can move up or if you already are in honors and it's too stressful you can move back down and no one will judge you! I used to get bullied a lot from pretty much pre-school up until the end of 6th grade and luckily Tech so far I haven't had any problems with people making fun of me at least that I know of. But other than that, it's a pretty good school."
"Safety of the children is obviously not taken seriously here. They leave the yellow blinking lights on 24 hours a day 7 days a week and The crosswalk signs are left in the middle of the road at all times. The kids cross the road at random with no direction or supervision causing major traffic backups. This causes such frustration to the drivers trying to get past the school that they end up proceeding with less safety in order to get past. I have spoken to the school several times including the superintendent and I was told that although there is a person hired and on-site to manage traffic safety, they are not willing to have someone direct traffic during the first and last school bell per day. This would be a total of 30 minutes per day. It's ridiculous and unsafe. I doubt this review will be taken any more seriously then the three times I called the school."
