Founded in 1887 by William Curtis Draper, the store is now owned by John Anderson and Matt Krimm, who offer a wide selection of premium cigars, pipes, pipe tobacco, snus, and smoking accessories to a national clientele. As a secure retailer of premium cigars, W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist does not sell tobacco products to individuals under the age of 21, and does not offer cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, or roll-your-own tobacco on their website. "Probably the greatest cigar store in DC. Two gentlemen in the store are extremely knowledgeable extremely helpful. If you're a cigar aficiado or novice or looking for a gift it's a must see visit, without a doubt."
"Professional and friendly staff. Decent collection as well, though they don't carry Opus X cigars. My only issue is that they close early during the week (at 5 pm) and are not open on the weekends. This limits customers' ability to shop there, especially if they don't have time to do so during working hours."
