Reviews of Main Line Endoscopy Center, West
"I scheduled my appointment and waited a month to see a doctor about a pain in my abdomen. The day before my appointment I was sent a text message saying that my appointment was cancelled because they did not accept my insurance. This information could and should have been passed on to me when I made the appointment, now I have to find another doctor and keep waiting. I never got to see their doctors or nurses but their insurance department and office staff can do better."
"I just came home from my colonoscopy. The nurses at this facility were beyond amazing! So very sweet and friendly. I wish I remembered their names. They made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Huntington was very nice as well. I highly recommend this facility."
"The greatest doctors in the world don't matter when the groups supporting the logistics leading to surgery can't and or won't help you. I booked a procedure and get a call that I'll owe $800 some dollars. That's incorrect, I owe $170 for outpatient- I always have and my health insurance hasn't changed. I called my health insurance and even they confirmed that's what I should owe for this procedure. No one at the endoscopy center here can help me and I just get transferred around between departments, eventually leading to an outsourced billing agency who can do nothing for me but parrot their incorrect information. So I came here for an appointment to get scheduled for a procedure that I can't have because their billing is messed up- absolute waste of my time- and I thought Penn Medicine was bad. I've wasted 3 hours of my time dealing with this nonsense- this is my first and probably last experience coming here."
"After many reschedules, I did finally have a colonoscopy done. However, I was billed for it and since it was for prevention, and there were no polyps, it should not have been billed. Besides that, I had reached the maximum out of pocket anyway. To top it off, I was billed again even though I paid. So I've been trying to call to get my money back, and billing never returned my call. I would have gone to Malvern to get to them directly, but the billing department is in Wyomissing, close to Reading. So much for that idea! So now I'm still waiting for a return call. Very frustrating. They're very nervy, too, billing me twice for the same thing, after I had already paid though I shouldn't have."
"Bad experience scheduling a colonoscopy. Played phone tag for days because all calls went to voicemail. Then, after submitting my health information questionnaire online, they didn't have it when I came to the appointment because the online tool didn't feed into my medical record, so I had to fill out a different medical history form. Finally, I had to wait several months for the appointment. I noticed that the colonoscopy preparation instructions contained a math error: they said to take 64oz of liquid prep in 8oz doses every 20 minutes for 2 hours, 15 minutes. But that would take 2 hours, 40 minutes because 8 * 20 = 160. I was already distrusting this practice because of the scheduling difficulty and now I find math errors. I wasn't very pleased. The appointment day came and I was "prepped" for the colonoscopy. They told me that Dr. Callahan and the anesthesiologist wouldn't see me because I had a runny nose a week ago and I'm unvaccinated, and they didn't want to risk the health of their staff. It literally never occurred to me that a runny nose with no other symptoms would be enough to disqualify me from having the appointment, because that would just be absurd. Risk the health of their staff? A runny nose a week ago? Preposterous. At least they could have allowed a rapid test so all my "colon prep" suffering wasn't wasted. Never again will I deal with these people. I'll go somewhere else."
