"Have been shopping here for years. Always a pleasure. However, today was different. I had called and purchased items via the phone. I shared I would be in late in the day and asked for the yarn to be placed in cakes. When I arrived, the store was quiet The proprietor was cleaning a floral arrangement. None of the yarn was caked. The proprietor said she was busy. Then I asked for a refund. I was told no refunds. I completed an exchange (with much easier to cake yarn). I was given a partial refund on my debit card. Unfortunately, I was overcharged for the new yarn. I returned to the store. I was initially told I was wrong. I eventually received the difference in cash."

"What a lovely shop! Small but it has a nice selection of quality yarns. Natalie went above and beyond to help us pick colors for a stranded sweater. She spent so much time and offered great guidance. I will definitely be back!"

"Yarns by design has a great selection of anything that a beginner or expert could want. Yarn types (wool, alpaca, synthetic), thickness, colors, as well as patterns and accessories. Great help is also available!! And if you are put off by the drive, it's located in a lovely part of Oakmont with other great shops and restaurants to make any travel worth the time."

"This is a small but very welcoming store. Sandy was extremely helpful even though I was asking for help outside of her comfort level! She admitted to liking muted colors and I was going for unusual color and textures. I ended up with a couple of beautiful yarns. The space itself was comfortable and smelled yummy. If I lived in Pittsburgh this would be my regular yarn store."

"Did a personal yarn crawl with my sister in law in the Pittsburgh area last December. I was so impressed with this shop that I went back a few times this year. Small shop with helpful staff and great selection of great luxury yarns. Also good selection of some workhorse yarns as well perfect for holiday knitting. Parking was easy and other cute shops nearby."
