Reviews of Coordinated Health - Emrick
"We went to this center to get COVID tests for my family. The drive though testing center was open from 2pm-6 pm. We arrived at 2:25 pm. The line was long but we figured because it was a drive though it would move along. The line crawled one car length every 5-10 minutes. At 5:00 pm, a woman came to our car and let us know that they would be shutting down the line at 6 and that there was a possibility we wouldn't be seen. She handed us a paper of other testing sites. At that point, we had waited almost 3 hours and were getting close to the end so we decided to wait. At 6:02 they shut down the line and with 4 cars left to go ahead of us we were sent away. When I expressed my absolute disgust at the situation, I was asked if I had seen the news and if I was aware that testing centers were overwhelmed and that they didn't know how much more communication they could have given me (NONE). I 100% appreciate every single healthcare worker out there and can't imagine the stress and hours they put into their jobs. However, if the site closes at 6, they cannnot continue to allow people into the line and wait for hours on end just to tell them Oh well ... sorry for waiting 4 hours but here is a piece of paper that tells you other places to go (This was handed to us at 5 when most of them would have been closed already) I am sure all of them work very long hours and they need to get home to their families but than the line should have been shut down at 2. I would rather have wasted 20 minutes driving there to find it is was already maxed out then to have wasted 4 hours for absolutely nothing. If that would have been the case, I could have found another place to get tested at 2:25 rather than after 6 pm when most places were closed. It was such a frustrating and awful experience. I am glad that later that evening we found a place that took the time to see each of our children and were kind and valued our time. Never will I go back to this location."
"I definitely agree that there is a billing scheme going on. I was charged for a "hospital visit" of $1,300 when given an injection for my shoulder. It was at my first appointment, in the doctor's office. There was no mention ahead of time about the cost. Actually, I was charged for the office visit, for the medication in the needle as well as for a "hospital visit" which evidently is how they bill for the procedure of giving out an injection, although it occurred in the office.. Had I known in advance, I would have declined the injection which I did do initially until Dr. Friedman claimed it was the same as taking an over the counter anti inflammatory for a week, except it would work more quickly. Actually, it didn't work at all. They need to be much more transparent about their charges ahead of time to be more fair to actual customers."
"Here is why I will no longer deal with Coordinated Health. They have a policy that if a doctor or PA sends you for tests, you have to then make another appointment to come in and discuss the results of your test (even if they show nothing). The doctor will not call you on the phone to discuss the results. And, oh yeah, of course you will be poked and prodded again. You will be weighed, have your BP taken, pulse, temperature, questioned, yada yada, even if you were just there a week prior. Not sure how much of a change in my weight, BP, or pulse you expect to see in a week's time. They do this so they can justify billing your insurance for another visit. In my opinion, THIS POLICY DOES NOT BENEFIT THE PATIENT - IT BENEFITS COORDINATED HEALTH'S BOTTOM LINE. How is this a benefit to me? You think I want to come back there again? Or how about if I am anxious for my test results but I have to wait MONTHS to see the specialist to go over them? No. This is not for me, the patient, this is for Coordinated Health. I saw both a PA and an endocrinologist there and had tests and a biopsy done, and it ended up with me arguing with them that I had the right to a copy of my records, regardless of what the specialist wanted. She didn't want me to have a copy of them until our next appointment. I don't care what you want. I have a right to my records. Know your rights, fellow patients. Turns out the biopsy was negative, anyway. So why did I have to wait months to see you to go over that? MONEY, that's why. They don't want to turn down a chance to bill you. (Btw, you have the right to your medical records, and in Pennsylvania they have up to 30 days to provide them to you. They may charge you a reasonable fee. But if a doctor REFUSES to give you your records, they must present a denial in writing, and there are only 3 reasons deemed acceptable for refusal. You can also appeal a refusal.) Actually the PA was very nice and seemed extremely competent and caring. I honestly have no complaints about the PA (Victoria Lorenz. I would give her 5 stars). But I will not continue to see anyone at Coordinated Health because of this policy. This is the Lehigh Valley, there are TONS of options for me for doctors and medical care. I am shocked Coordinated Health would try and get away with this."
"Had X-rays done and they never sent the results to my Doctor. When I called to request this, they asked me for his fax # and phone #...I didn’t know medical care was self-service these days. Added stars because my X-ray techs were wonderful to me. UPDATE: day three, called my doc for the results. They still haven’t sent them. Calling again..."
"This facility will bill you DOUBLE (and insurance will not cover everything). I was charged for being seen by two different facilities even though the "other facility" was 15 steps from the exam room (got a simple x-ray that took 15 seconds). I would have turned down the X-ray if i had known about the hidden billing scam. How they are legally allowed to do this is incredible. It's a shame because I actually liked the Doctor and would have gone back."
