"Today was my year one post op shoulder replacement visit. Doctor Kearns is the best. Exquisite skills and great personality. I can do everything except the external rotation with absolutely no pain."
"Dr. Jacoby and his staff are top notch. I’m thrilled that my painful condition is fixable with surgery. He is warm, engaging, and reassuring. Explained what he will do to give me the best outcome. He also has a great sense of humor. He had me laughing during a shot in my joint. My husband was so happy that Dr. Jacoby can help me, he is now a patient, too. My Surgery is in a few weeks. The staff are also open and caring, encouraging me to call with any questions or concerns."
"Terrible. I lost a fortune in surgeries to this guy (Kearns), and he NEVER even FIXED the source of pain (in 2 surgeries). He told me point blank “I’ll scope it, and fix whatever needs to be fixed”. But I was there to get a specific pain fixed - pain deep in the SIDE of my shoulder. Which we went over, repeatedly, prior to both surgeries. He failed, twice. All while cutting a tendon and screwing it into the bone (which other - 2nd opinion doctors, were rather skeptical about after looking at the surgical photos). I now lost part of a tendon (which was a questionable decision) and he did NOTHING to fix the original source of pain - the pain that I went to him for in the first place (after claiming he would fix it, and anything else that needed fixing while he was “in there”). Repeatedly pushed back the recovery times of the original surgery (3-4 months, then 6 months, then “Like I said... it could take 12 months!”. No, no that’s not what “you said”. Standard gaslighting. He was full of it, and other doctors I spoke to agreed - literally). Even suggested PRP after both surgeries, and then he injected it into a location where I did not have pain. I explained this to him BEFORE he injected it, and he pompously ignored me. The pain is coming from a tear in the cuff, in the side of the shoulder, which is what I still have - and had in the first place - 3 years ago prior to his original surgery. The entire reason I went through with surgery in the first place!! His assistant Suzy is rather useless, and I stopped hearing back from the doctor/Suzy after 18 months of the runaround - Distancing from me. I had to contact the front office about this particular issue. They seemed baffled, claiming “it was odd because it wasn’t like her to not get back to people” after repeatedly attempting to get some answers from her. In my experience- You become just a number, so to speak - once 2 expensive surgeries turn into failures. The ineptitude of this doctor is alarming to the Orthopedic Field. It is eye opening to realize how precise and meticulous you need to be with sports medicine surgeons/doctors. They may claim expertise, but that still doesn’t mean they are fully competent. Now I received a 3rd surgery - but this time from an adept physician (but thousands more in medical bills coming my way, regardless). And yes - other’s reviews/claims of him playing on his phone during office visits are spot on and accurate. How about some propriety? I also think it is odd there are so many “5 star” google reviews of him, by people who only have one review (coincidentally) - and don’t even leave any legitimate comments or information. I just think its very strange and rather suspect. You be the judge though, of course. Please, do as much homework as you can on orthopedic physicians before making any decisions. You could lose years and fortunes of money, getting strung along- without your pain even being addressed."
"Dr. Kearns is easy to talk to, a great listener and truly cares about his patients. I’m grateful for his excellent care and trust that I’m in good hands!"
