"The doctors I have from this practice are nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately, the staff at Fern Hill is an absolute nightmare. My doctor NEVER gets any of my messages resulting in delays getting post-surgical meds (3 months), runarounds getting test scheduled (3 months and counting, will now just go to my wife’s appointment with her). This is most recent. We have been making complaints for years. Someone needs to stop being defensive and address this major administrative catastrophe before it ends with a patient being hurt not being able to get what their doctor prescribed or get any communication to their doctor."
"I did have a good experience with this cardiologist. I really like Val and Dr. Boyek. My only issue is when calling to schedule I don't always get a welcoming voice. I can't say that for every person I spoke to so far but today was not to friendly. This doesn't happen a lot because there are some really nice people in the practice. I will address this with my Dr otherwise I enjoy everyone at this office."
"I thought this cardiologist was actually listening to me and thought I was actually getting somewhere. Until I was told I "didn't have enough injuries" to warrant me getting a loop monitor put in to monitor my condition. They told me they recommended a 2 week monitor and they would call me to set up that appointment. Its been a month and I haven't heard from them at all. I will never go back to this practice again."
"I'm concerned about the time other patients had to wait in the waiting room. I was seen by my doctor's assistant a few minutes after I checked in, which was great. However, other patients in the waiting room were very frustrated because they had been waiting for a half hour or more to see their doctor. One patient was particularly upset because they had taken time from their workday for their appointment and had to get back to work. They felt that they were being disrespected and I agree with them. When the patient pushed the office staff for an update, the staff only apologized and said something like "the doctor is running late and will be with you as soon as they can." The office staff could have handled this better by making a reasonable estimate of the doctor's delay then advising the patient of the estimate so the patient could make a decision about how to manage their time. The staff and patient could then talk about rescheduling, or the patient could have called their work to talk about returning to work later than expected. Both of these are productive conversations that could not be had with the way the staff was handling this challenge. The staff was not giving the patient any information, which left them powerless and reasonably upset. If the doctor isn't able to give the staff a reasonable estimate, or refuses to, then shame on them because they are, in fact, disrespecting their patients' time."
"Waited an hour for nothing because of the receptionist. Was also told I had a balance due for a test done last month. Received nothing in the mail about this and on the day of my ECG I got a phone call hours before the appointment saying it may not be covered by insurance. I followed up later that day and was told it was covered. No problems with my doctor here but the other staff need to do better."
