"They kicked out my child from their services only after 4 months and he did nothing wrong. They treated us with such disregard and would cancel my son’s services whenever they felt like it and send home his RBT instead. They also had no regard for my son being sick and placed us on probationary period because of it- when my son and our whole family got sick because of them. They don’t follow any isolation policies regarding COVID-19 and would prefer for us to take our child in while he is sick. The new receptionist is horrible- VERY RUDE to us. One of the RBTs who came to our house was very unpleasant and had mood swings. The director sent me rude emails stating that I don’t prioritize my son because I couldn’t commit to morning sessions. It’s all about getting paid for them. They wanted to bill my sons insurance company for more hours and because we were unable to do so many hours they made a huge problem of it and turned us away one afternoon when we showed up to our sons session. They didn’t even let him have his session that day. They didn’t care about his feelings with them saying he can’t come in to their facility. They completely disregarded my son as if he didn’t matter to them any at all. And the following Monday they emailed us that they will send over discharge paperwork for my son to end his services there. Don’t fall for their fake smiles. They are unprofessional and have no business caring for our special needs children. Update: They wrote bad things on my son’s discharge report to sabotage him from getting more service."
"Let us keep our children safe As special needs parents, it’s necessary to think twice when we decide the people we want around our children, especially our special needs children. People will disguise themselves with smiles and laughs to make you believe they are pure and kind at heart. But the truth couldn’t be any further from it. I can only speak from my experience with the Helping Hands Family staff. They certainly can play that game. So I write this review today only because I truly love and care about all children. And I believe our children deserve to be safe. Safety for our special needs children means being able to trust that people won’t harm our children in anyway: whether it be by words or physically. Safety means not taking out anger or frustration at our kiddos by kicking them out of your program and turning them away without any sort of proper protocol, without even considering my child developed a bond with the facility and not even considering he needs the service. Safety means not leaving my child on the toilet unsupervised because your shift is about to end. Safety means paying attention to our children so they don’t get hurt and have unexplained scratches on their bodies. The reason for this gets clearer with time. Racisms and discrimination. Because of what my family experienced with these people, I am definitely fit to say all these people want is to be paid, and ultimately these aren’t people who are fit to care for our children who can’t speak and advocate for themselves. There’s a lot that my family went through with these people. I could write a book, if I were to go in details. It’s certainly eye opening and somewhat confusing when one has to live through these things. But my goal here is only to share my review and to tell my fellow special needs parents to be mindful of the people we choose to be around our children, especially if you are African American - who are presently in a very sensitive space. This should have no bearing on how my child and family are treated. Yet, I can safely say, what we experienced with the HHF is nothing short of it. And just a heads up. You will get no where if you choose to stand up for your child. We got as far as ‘Regional Director’ and to this day, I wonder who we really spoke with. I don’t believe we spoke with any regional director. This person was rude and very unprofessional towards us and couldn’t care any less about our concerns, especially our child. Carefully vet your childcare provider and just be mindful because it’s easy to be distracted by a deceitful smile and words."
"“As a special education teacher that has collaborated with staff at Helping Hands Family- I have only great things to say about this organization. It is clear from both observations and discussions that the staff have the utmost respect and care for their clients. It is heartwarming to see the passion and dedication that is given by both the BCBAs and RBTs every day. The staff are always striving to make sessions engaging and educational in order to ensure clients’ success. Whenever I am asked about Autism Therapy Services, I am proud to say my first recommendation is Helping Hands Family.”"
"West Chester HHF is a fun, friendly, and family oriented environment! Everyone working there is willing to answer questions or help out whenever needed! From my experience, it is a pleasure working with them!!"
"Our family has a had a wonderful experience with the Helping Hands Family in West Chester. I was able to tour with my child and get the full feel of the welcoming staff and environment. Our daughter has made significant progress (in speech, imaginative play, staying on tasks for longer periods of time) in the short time she has attended. I look forward to seeing how much more she grows/ progresses. The center will walk you through the process of validating insurance, scheduling, and any other concerns/questions you may have. The center is child-led and play based. This is the type of environment where children thrive. I would recommend the Helping Hands Family to anyone that is in need of services for their child."
