Reviews of LVHN ExpressCARE-Tobyhanna
"My doctor sent me here to get testing, however the receptionist( I’m assuming because i hope she has no other interactions with patients outside of that) Joann is an awful person. I don’t know who responds to a patient who is seeking clarification on something their physician told them with “no that’s not how it works” and then putting them immediately on hold. She also informed me that even though I have a doctors order and a nurses visit showing I still have to wait for everyone who came before me despite actively being on the phone with Lehigh valley health network telling me otherwise. She then proceeded to say that I was rude to her on the phone and screamed at me in the receptionist area because i was upset and crying because she told me I was rude for no reason and I don’t know their system works because shocker I’m a patient.Anyone who screams at a patient who is sick and crying because they are being told two different things should never work in healthcare. So since she decided to say “I documented that already” well here you go Joann it’s documented online too. I would understand being told I need to wait for an open room hence why I asked for a wait time but to be screamed at by a receptionist for trying to clarify why these nurses visits have times attached if I still have to wait for others who signed in before me and for her to directly tell me the opposite of what their network is telling on the phone is insane."
"I have always had a good experience here. The receptionist is polite and professional. The wait depends on how many people are there, but I've never waited too long. The doctors are very thorough. I've tried a couple other urgent cares in the area and this one is the best."
"Got here at 7:55am and the doors were open. The check in process was quick and before I finished the paperwork, I was called in to see the nurse practitioner. The front desk staff was very nice and so was the nurse and NP. They gave my son Tylenol and a strep test immediately. I'm writing this less than an hour from walking in."
"Brought my daughter here. She was sent home from school with suspected strep throat. Waited about an hour or so and saw Chelsea. She was so nice, my daughter really loved her. The woman who took my daughter's vitals was also very sweet. Office is clean. I would definitely come back here. Highly recommend."
"My wife visited this facility today to have post op stitches removed, they stated that their stitches are post op because they had been turned away from another facility today for that reason, and they were told no problem about removing the stitches. They waited, and when seen by a doctor (can’t remember her name) were told again that this facility also doesn’t remove post op stitches (even though while making the appointment that was no problem.) The doctor was extremely rude even as my wife was crying and having a panic attack and made it very clear my wife was wasting her time. I find this absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. We will now be removing the stitches at home rather than driving 3 hours to the surgeon because urgent/express “care” facilities are too afraid of responsibility to perform the simple and easy procedure of removing stitches. I understand health care professionals are burnt out and underpaid at many facilities so please: HIRE MORE PROFESSIONALS AND PAY THEM A THRIVING WAGE to prevent this sort of occurrence for other patients and families."
