Reviews of The Social North Charles
"I liked my stay so far. Although there has been some maintenance problems but the maintenance people have been prompt with it. Overall it’s a good experience. Special mention for QuaAsia whose been amazing during this lease signing process and was trying her best to accommodate our request over email."
"I have lived in this building since August 2022. Throughout my stay here, numerous issues have arisen, but none more infuriating than the water situation. The leasing office periodically sends out emails on an almost monthly basis regarding water shut-offs. The water shut off is either labeled as "emergency" or they give us a few days notice. Sometimes, if we're lucky, we get TWO water shut-offs in one month! And only for $1350 a month! What a steal! Between the time period of December 28th 2023 and January 17 2024, we have received 11 emails about water shut-offs, lack of hot water, future shut-offs, and more. The building is old. You can clearly see through the renovations to tell that. However, besides the large college student population that lives here, many elderly people do as well. A few months back, at 2 am, a fire alarm went off for FIVE hours. I personally saw these elderly folk in the lobby waiting for it to turn off. Now, imagine being them and also living without constant access to water. The leasing office is also incredibly vague about what the fixes are. If they gave us more information, then perhaps tenants can be more understanding. But all they say is that it is "necessary" or relating to the boiler. If maintenance is needed 1-2 times a month, perhaps the whole system needs to be fixed. I wouldn't be surprised. Underneath this message, you will see that the leasing office will comment "We are so sorry that you have not had a good experience," or something to that effect. I do not need your apologies and neither do my roommates or the residents of the building, many of home I know share the exact same concerns as me. What we do need are the following: - Absolute transparency regarding the water situation over the past 1.5 years and a one-time fix for the water. It seems like simple PR, but throughout the, I think two or three, management teams I have seen come and go, it seems rather difficult."
"Working with the new manager has been absolutely delightful. She answered and explained all the questions I had and was extremely helping especially since this is my first time signing a lease. I loved the tour I was given of the facility and I was introduced to all the amenities the apartment has to offer. Overall, i'm very pleased with all the help i’ve been receiving and I can’t wait to move into my apartment."
"When I first moved into this building, I was so excited to make my own space. Within the first couple of weeks, I encountered difficulties with the AC, plumbing, etc. For awhile, my concerns went unnoticed, and I started to despair. But the new building manager has made me feel so much more secure. Once she heard about my unresolved maintenance tickets, she went to action to make sure each of my complaints was addressed. This level of care makes me feel hopeful, and I’m happy she’s here. I finally feel like I’m coming home."
"If I could rate no stars here I would! This is the worst apartment complex I have ever encountered and am taking them to court. They could not provide me with a livable unit and ended upi transferring me to 4 different units asking me for more money every time. The original lease I signed was for a floor plan/room not available to me. This is the unit they ended up wanting to force me to live in. They get you to sign a lease by saying if you don't like the unit after you look at it you have 72 hours to cancel the lease and they would issue a full refund. THE STAFF HERE REFUSED TO CANCEL THE LEASE at 48 hours after seeing the first unit, then dragged the process out for 14 days. The unit they are now trying to force me to live in is this.... To cancel a lease for a room I never even signed paperwork for, they are requiring me to pay them for $2260 without getting my money back of $1100. Everyone should see this."
