Reviews of Avana Stoney Ridge
"So far so good. The place is clean and quiet. The residents are friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is enticing but I haven't experienced swimming there yet. I am also lucky that the apartment is just walking distance from my work. Asian and Western restaurants are nearby. A big grocery store is also a walk away."
"I moved into the apartment and it was disgusting. Called about it and they didn't care. Submitted my documents and then they charged me 491 dollars for insurance even though I uploaded the documents as per their original standards and lease agreement. They changed the lease agreement for uploading documents I never signed and charged me 491 dollars. I have taken screen and the AG will hear about this. All appliances are from the 90s so be prepared for a 250 dollar electric bill for a single bed apartment. 05/17/2022"
"When I first moved in here, this apartment was run nicely and the office was incredibly responsive. When BH ran the place, the manager was kind and helpful. The place was kept very clean, the residents were peaceful and quiet, and I felt very pleased to be there. Worst thing was that a number of the outlets int he apartment did not hold a plug or did not work properly. When Greystar took over, however, this place became an unpleasant place to live. The office became impossible to reach. I would call repeatedly and be met with no way to leave a message, and no office staff answered the phone. My emails went unanswered about charges I saw mysteriously showing—including a $3000 charge appearing one month. After Greystar took over, the quality of care for the apartments and residents lowered. They allowed a resident to tie their dog to the bushes outside the apartment complex on a regular basis, allowed tree companies to work above parked cars without notice about moving the vehicles for their safety, and allowed trash & food to build up on the stairs. Music played loudly in apartments without helping residents to improve the situation. Residents talk loudly in the stairwells on the phone. People worked on their cars in the parking lot and left sharp objects in the spaces that could damage your tires. Children were often unattended in the stairwells, making it difficult to get in and out of your apartment—and the children's trash would show up at my doorstep and get left uncleaned for long stretches of time. They force you to pay monthly for a valet trash service, yet every time I tried to use it, no one would remove the trash. I put it out at the correct time, and I would see the trash truck driving around the complex, yet they never stopped at my apartment. Since moving out, I have battled with Greystar for nearly six months about charges that far exceed what I should have owed upon moving out. The woman on the phone from the corporate office essentially told me that regardless of how I felt about the itemized list of charges they provided, there was no way to fight this. I tried countless times to call the office of Stoney Ridge to discuss the matter, and I emailed as well; yet, no response was ever given, and no staff answered the phone. Meanwhile, I overpaid at move-in and was never granted a credit for this, and my initial deposit hardly touches the surface in resolving these outrageous charges. I have never struggled like this with an apartment in my life. I am a teacher, and I am a responsible tenant. I never miss a payment, I keep a clean home, I am quiet, and I have no children. It's a shame this complex had to take the turn it did after being such a pleasant place to live. They are charging me for lightbulbs in the bathroom that they never changed (from the very day I moved in), trash (despite charging me monthly for a trash service they never followed through with), and additional rent that I was not informed I owed until months after I moved out. There is no reason a resident should not be informed of owed rent until they have been moved out of the apartment for months. The account failed to accurately reflect what I owed while I lived there, and I can't comprehend how I am to understand the charges six months later. I am even being charged "$358.55" for utilities despite all utilities in the apartment being paid upon move-out. Given the quality of things now, I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex. It's a beautiful spot, and it was great. Now, it's taking steps in all the wrong directions, especially given what you are paying each month to rent a 600 square foot apartment with virtually no amenities."
"Moved from a third floor apartment to a first floor apartment in the complex. Have lived here for several years. New apartment has many upgrades old apartment did not have. Great service, quick and friendly maintenance. Landscaping in front of patio needs improvement. Office and maintenance personnel were very helpful before, during, and after move."
"I have lived here for three years, just signed our lease for year number four. I have never had a bad experience with the current office staff. They worked with us when we wanted to move into a larger apartment because we had a baby. They do definitely have an open-door policy, because I have always been able to go in there and talk to them regarding any issues we have. If you do bring any issues to them, they do their best to take care of it as soon as possible. When I submit a service request for maintenance, I pretty much always hear from them within 24 hours. The location is phenomenal, it’s located right near everything you need. The pool area is nice. They keep up with the dumpsters. They have a staff that cleans the grounds daily, so it is definitely not dirty like some apartment complexes can be. The noise level is normally good (some times you get the loud cars at night, but for the most part its fairly quiet). Our neighbors are friendly, almost everyone says hello to one another. I would definitely recommend Stoney Ridge."
