"Too many issues to even cover (including my fiancé and our dog being stuck in the elevator for over an hour - with no one saying anything to us afterwards). Now after moving out two years ago - and they told us we were good to go - they are trying to claim we still owe them money. I have heard this has happened to many other people as well! I hate this building and would not recommend living here to ANYONE. It’s not worth the “pretty” appearance and wellness suite (which got several people very sick when we lived there)"
"I've had more than my fair of issues with different leasing offices/agents around the area who act like breathing chat bots that make the leasing process confusing and unnecessarily difficult to the point where I was going to move to a completely different area in DC. Thank God for Leroy and Khiana. They both made the leasing process even smoother than I thought it could be and were a breath of fresh air compared to all the headache from other leasing offices. As mentioned in other reviews, Leroy moved from concierge to leasing in the same building and well deservedly so because his welcoming, hospitable energy is definitely a blessing for the Crossing leasing team."
"I lived in Crossing for two years (2021-2023) and lived in two different units. The experience was underwhelming. First, the good: there have been a lot of staff (including Leroy, Patria, and several others) who care deeply about their jobs and are a pleasure to work with. It's a new building with a lot of amenities, including a beautiful rooftop and spaces to work from home. While I was a resident, there were several challenges that degraded my experience: 1) I found it difficult to get any issues resolved promptly by the leasing office. Even fairly important things, like lease renewals, loading dock reservations, or utilities billing were hard to resolve. My sense is that the office is understaffed for the number of tenants, increasing response times and causing details to fall through the cracks. I've heard horror stories from other residents about multi-thousand dollar charges left on their account in error. 2) The drama. While I lived there, we experienced: an FBI raid, an outbreak of legionella, management slow-rolling their response to the legionella outbreak, a change in management companies, etc. While some of these were not caused by the building's management, I was troubled by the lack of concern for residents and the way these incidents were handled. 3) Quality of life issues. I understand that it's a new building and that there's always going to be a learning curve. As someone paying market rent in a luxury building, I had high expectations. While I lived there, there were recurring issues with: takeout orders being stolen from communal spaces, security concerns with non-residents using amenities, a Latch system that frequently did not work, cars being stained in a ~$300/month parking garage, amenities being out of order, etc. With all of these issues combined, it just wasn't feasible to renew for a third year. A lot of the building's staff are trying their best, and I saw some improvement over my time at Crossing. I just wish the building were better managed and more responsive to tenants' concerns."
"I've been living in this building for over 2.5 years and have to shout out Leroy who has been one of the best parts of living in this building. Even with change of management, the building knew how crucial retaining Leroy was to keep residents happy. Leroy was once concierge and has since been promoted to be part of the leasing team. Given his professionalism and deep care for residents he's interacted with in the past, he also still helps us out when he can. Not to mention, his jovial demeanor never fails to put a smile on your face! There has been a fair amount of attrition at Crossing since I've been here but I know that I will always be in good hands as long as Leroy is a part of staff."
"Have been a resident in this building for a year now and you can not beat the amenities provided and the location. (especially if you like baseball) During our time here there was a transition of management companies which can get confusing for residents and sometimes cause issues. The one constant has been solid concierge service, that is always friendly and helpful. More importantly Leroy from the leasing office has shown exceptional service and has taken ownership of any issue my roommate and I have faced since move-in day, even when it is a small issue that has nothing to do with leasing, he hears your concerns and makes sure your issues are solved swiftly and without any headaches. The staff (especially Leroy) has really made our time living here drastically better and has treated every resident with the most professionalism and respect I've ever experienced in the 6 different apartments I've rented."
