"We love Malverm School in Blue Bell! Angela and the rest of the administrative staff are incredible and keep the families involved in school life. My daughter has been there since 4 months old and the teachers treated her with as much care as their own. She loves going to “school”, has made friends and is learning every day. I could not be happier with our decision to take her to malvern school in blue bell."
"So far so good, my 3 1/2 years old baby girl is attending to this school and she loves it, she just been there for two weeks now and she can't stop talking about of "the malvern school" like she calls it. I am very impressed with their staff and the care they have for the kids."
"We just started sending our daughter here at the beginning of the year in the Older Toddler classroom. They made her transition from her previous daycare to there very smooth. I cannot say enough great things about their curriculum. I am so impressed with everything my daughter is learning. I highly recommend this center!"
"Our two kids joined the Malvern School in July after we moved moved from the city. I was concerned because our daycare in the city was amazing and I assumed that we couldn't get that lucky again. Although the school is much bigger than our previous school, i find the teachers and leadership team at Malvern to be as caring, attentive, and dedicated as our city daycare. Both my kids' teachers (Pre-K and Get start) are super nice and great with kids. They answer all my questions, never hesitating to take time to talk to me about things. I find Angela and Mary Catherine (leadership team) to be on top of everything and running a good school. The facility is brand new and always clean. My husband and I are both really happy with the school."
"My wife and I toured the Blue Bell Malvern School as a potential preschool for our soon-to-be two year old and we liked what we saw. It's a brand new facility with all the bells and whistles, we liked their philosophies and activities, and the director(s) were nice and responsive. We submitted a deposit and arranged for our daughter to start two days a week. Our daughter had never been to school or day care before so we wanted to bring her for a couple visits before actually starting so she could get acclimated to the environment and also forge a relationship with the teacher. My wife and I took our daughter for two 45 minute visits and what we saw was unacceptable to the point where clearly would not be sending our child there. When I brought my daughter into the classroom, the teacher and assistant could hardly even be bothered to acknowledge us. Especially at such a young age, it is imperative to greet a child new to an environment with loving, open arms and make them feel welcomed. "Good morning, Johnny! How are you!? I'm Miss So-and-so. Do you want to come over here and meet some other children!? We're playing with blocks. Can you come help us?!". Nothing. How the teacher does not understand this is beyond me. The teacher's minimal greeting to us it turns out would be the only interaction she had with my daughter the entire time during both visits. My daughter's experience while visiting consisted of her walking around by herself doing whatever she wanted with no interaction from a teacher. At one point, a little girl was going around taking things other children were playing with (a common behavior at this age). After this went on for far too long, the teacher finally, from across the room, yelled "Use your words!". Firstly, how is a two year old (the victim mind you) supposed to be expected to interpret "use your words"? More importantly, this was a great opportunity to teach about sharing which was completely missed because of laziness and/or disinterest. If simple lessons like this aren't being taught/reinforced, why am I sending my child there? Near the end of my visit, I decided to attempt to initiate an interaction between my daughter and the main teacher since neither teacher seemed to have any interest in engaging my child or any other children for that matter. It was clean up time and I saw the teacher putting blocks away by herself. I suggested to my daughter that she go over and help the teacher clean up. My daughter walked over to the teacher and started trying to help her. The teacher stopped, looked at my daughter, and continued putting blocks away without a word. Every last thing I saw from the teacher told me that this is someone who hates her job. We've visited close to a dozen day cares and preschools, and have never seen anything like this. A preschool teacher should be happy, friendly, loving, engaging, and generally interested in being around kids every day. I saw none of this from any teacher during our visits. I considered whether the teachers were nervous that there was a visitor. Even if that was the case, there are visitors in classrooms constantly. Is my child supposed to be ignored whenever there is a visitor? When I discussed what I saw with the director, she informed me that this particular teacher is one of their best and that she just received a teacher of the month award. If your best teacher ignores children and shows no signs of wanting anything to do with them, who is your worst teacher? It is of our opinion that the Blue Bell Malvern School focuses their hiring efforts solely on degrees and not at all on personality or actual child care abilities. If you're looking for a place that will allow you to drop your kid off in the morning and pick them alive in the afternoon and nothing more, the Malvern School might be an option. If you expect your child to be at all nurtured, engaged, or simply not ignored, find another school."
