Remington Place Apartments

"Current tenant who just transferred within the Apartment complex and the property manager is holding my due refund from the prior apartment and charging me $800 over my agreed upon rent. I've been a tenant since 2017 and have faced alot of issues with this place. Most we're addressed and out of anyone's control but not this move. I had to apply as a new tenant meaning the app fee, deposit and move-in was charged to me. I paid it and sign all the forms as necessary just to not have my apartment ready on move-in day. The manager was too overwhelmed and decided not to call or email me stating that the move in date needed to be pushed. So on 7/24 I went to drop the check to claim the apartment just to be met with apologetic faces and statements because she knew she dropped the ball. She had her team work faster so I got in that day however the carpet cleaning had to be pushed since my belongings we're coming in and it makes no sense to clean a carpet that will immediately get dirty. Logged in online to pay my rent on 9/1 to see a balance $800 over my expected fee. Due to the inconvenience J stated that the move-in fee would be credited and said nothing verbally about a prorated rate due in August. I didn't question it because I knew I had at least $360+ due from the prior apartment and figured it would be credited to my new apt. But nope, she doesn't even know where or how I will get my credit and states she never promised me a credit. I have called both the leasing office and Ross Management multiple times on 9/1 and today, 9/5 with no resolution. Legal action will be taken if this is not resolved by today. I did my part by paying my agreed upon rent, including the $400 I was expecting to be credited. Now you cannot ignore this complaint because I did not withhold rent."

"The 24hr Emergency maintenance has no lockout services, so if you get locked out your apt you have to call a locksmith and pay extra money for a lock.Also, regular maintenance tells you to put in a ticket for things you need fixed around the apartment and never come to fix."

"I applied to these apartments in April 2023 with my BF HAROLD DORMAN. Our application was denied for some unknown reason, but no problem. However, now we’re having difficulties getting our holding fee back. My bank has gone through my statements and has not found the refund anywhere, but Remington has provided a receipt claiming they processed the refund. Now I feel like I’m being ignored by them and they don’t care if I get my $200 back. No one from corporate has contacted me regarding this situation after several emails. Just makes you Leary of trusting putting money up front for anything for fear of being ripped off. Now looking at recent applicants like myself and their reviews, I found that I’m not the only one with the same issue. Ross companies seem to be ripping people off for their $200 holding fee then presenting fake refund receipts as proof they did. WOW! I have called and I have emailed with no response from anyone. The rental office manager Jennifer sent me a fake receipt. The refund according to my bank was NEVER processed. They’re a scam. But I will get my money back one way or another."

"Absolute worst deserves zero stars. If you can afford to live elsewhere then do so. There is an awful roach infestation here. The leasing office team is unprofessional and uncaring. Maintenance response is 2-3 days so hopefully whatever is broken you can go 2-3 days without it. Your packages will get stolen. The “secure” front door is always broken. The elevators never work at the same time so an entire building of people will have to use one elevator. Complain to the management company all you like but it does nothing as even Ross Mgmt. company is unresponsive. If you like roaches, having broken appliances, getting packages stolen, and a team of people who could care less then Remington Place is for you."

"I will be moving from here. This place increased the rent by $150.00. Under the state of Maryland law, rent can only increase by 3% so they are breaking the law. It is not the tenants' fault that Covid hit and now they are trying to make up their money. My car has been stolen twice. It's not like we are living in Virginia. The apartments are nice but they aren't lavished apartments. Lightbulbs are constantly out for days and sometimes weeks. That means that no one from the staff even walk the property or buildings like they should. Minor things like these should not take that long to repair. My neighbors packages have been stolen and I heard that others were having the same problem. The trash room smells so bad at times that the scent spreads through the hallway. Can you imagine how embarrassing that is when having company over? Ross Management is now in control and they have had a few lawsuits against them. We also have to personally pay for our own renter's insurance and we didn't even get a notice about that. I didn't really realize this until another neighbor brought this to my attention. I have decided to move out. If I am going to pay premium prices I expect to live in a premium location."
