Reviews of Parkway Terrace Apartments
"Terrible, ghetto. Ruthless landlords will evict you for being $1 short & 1 day late, beware."
"I lived at Parkway Terrace Apartments from 1959-1969. Back then, they actually had a pool that was open every summer and the entire project wasn't fenced off on both sides like it is now. They've obviously done a lot of remodeling since then, but the basic layout hasn't changed at all."
"When I first moved into this place everything was fine. I was happy and thought I finally found the perfect home. Well, that moment came to an end when it started to rain in June. In the second bedroom, where my children slept, water started to leak through the ceiling- I'm on the top floor. Contacted emergency maintenance, the guy said there was nothing he can do- the property manager will have to have a contractor come fix it. I thought they fixed the problem, until it rained again in July. Water began to not only leak from the ceiling, but through the light fixture on the ceiling, the walls, electrical outlets, and window in the second bedroom. Called the office, found out my unit wasn't the only unit with this issue. Nothing could be done at the moment. I was told they will have to wait for the ceiling and walls to dry before they can start repairing the unit. Two days later it rained again. This time the ceiling and part of the roof collapsed in the second bedroom. I am grateful no one got hurt. Contacted the office again, requested to be placed in a new unit. I was told they do not have any available units. They sent some people to come remove the debris, placed a tarp over the nature made sun roof, and dry vac in the room. A week later the contractors came, placed a board over the hole, put plaster over the wall, painted over the water damaged ceiling, and only God knows what they did on the roof. I don't specialize on repairing water damaged ceilings/roofs, but I know this was wrong. Doing patch work on a project that requires major repairs will lead to trouble in the future. Of course, it rained and the ceiling leaked again. Contacted the office again with the same request for them to fix the problem and move me to a new unit. Got the same answer nothing was available and the contractors did the same thing regarding the repair- this same pattern went on for 3 months. I forgot to mention the water damaged walls and carpet did not get repaired. They just sprayed a substance over the carpet and called it a day. The property manager thinks this unit is safe and considered it fixed. I eventually left. The ceiling in the second bedroom have bubbles and water stains where the water leaks. The wall still have water stains. I'm sure they are going to paint over it. Also, the pictures posted is over a spand of three months and the day before I left. If you do a walk through and see the ceiling looking like this in the second bedroom, congratulations be prepared to break the lease when it rains and I hope no one gets hurt."
"I've been living here for a long time. The new office staff is 100 times better than the previous. They are courteous and professional at all times. I'm hopeful that soon the grounds will have more places for socializing or sitting outside. We enjoy sitting outside and as it is now, we aren't allowed to sit outside of our building and the "park area" at the end of the complex is dismal."
