Reviews of Meridian at Braddock Station
"This building has some of the biggest apartments in the area though the building is slightly old and finishes are not the most premium but they are decent for the rent. Stuff breaks down often but the building staff is co-operative and responsive to get things fixed quickly. I have been staying here for 2.5 years and have had appliances breakdown a couple of times but the management has replaced it with brand new ones. The gym, cardio needs a bit of a revamp because the equipment is old. The lounge TVs and outdoor garden TV doesn’t work. Pets are allowed and they have a great dog park! Pros and cons just like any other building but we like it here."
"The sunrooms which are in every single apartment cause EXCESSIVE electricity bills. 10 foot tall wrap around windows are not proper insulation and will cause your AC bills in the Summer and your heating bills in the Winter to easily be double or triple what they should normally be for the size of your apartment. The sunroom itself is left inconvenient to use due to the extreme temperature difference in that room compared to the rest of the apartment. The maintenance is hilarious. The apartment complex's maintenance team will literally try to insist that you pick up their tools from the office and do the repairs yourself. I am not even kidding, you have to argue with them that you are not a handyman and will not do repairs for them. I seriously wish this was a joke, but I've got the messages. The sprinkler system in my apartment also randomly leaked and ruined some of my possessions as the building is shoddily built. Construction occurring across the street, I've been woken up by hammers, dump trucks, you name it the entire time I've been here. I asked the leasing office if there was anything that could be done about this or if they knew when the construction would end and they gaslighted me saying "Sir, no one else is experiencing this noise issue" as there's a jackhammer going off in the distance. The parking spots in the garage, which they charge $100 each a month for, were deficiently designed and as a result they are far too narrow for American vehicles. Damage to your car is likely. Don't know if it's for all floors, but on the ground floor cockroaches were a thing. If something is out of service, expect it to remain that way for weeks or months. We're talking garage doors not working, elevators not working, pieces of equipment in the gym not working, stays that way for weeks. The TVs in the 'Club Room' do not work. Wanted to watch the game with friends up there? Nah, you can't. TV outside by the garden? Nope, doesn't work. Concierge frequently puts up a sign that says they are 'out on the premises' and leaves for 30 - 45 minutes, no way to get your package during this time. Frequent noise in the garden area has been a regular complaint. The pool is frankly awful and is a maximum of 3 feet deep. At one point while living here, I started to receive dozens and dozens of different apartment's gas bills all at the same time. This occurred to the extent that the mailman stuffed my inbox to the point where it could barely be opened. I went to the leasing office and told them about this and it continued for weeks until I called the gas company and the post office several times and implored them to stop mailing me other residents bills because the office did nothing about it. My unit had the old 90s spiral stove top burners which aren't exactly what you'd expect from a $2K+ a month apartment. By the way, they put in your lease that if you ever want the privilege of moving out of their shoddy apartment complex, you have to pay them over $5k. Waiting on the apartment complex to reply with excuses and lies because they know all of the above is factual. So anyway, if you're thinking about choosing the Meridian at Braddock, enjoy living there."
"If you need disability accommodations, look elsewhere. The property manager, Troy, will tell you you're not disabled enough even if you have valid doctors letters. Other than that living here is great for location and the amount of space per unit. Maintenance staff is outsourced to another company and are so professional. Front desk staff have a hard job managing tons of packages. They are always friendly, but sometimes they'll vanish for lengthy amounts of time making it difficult to pick up things we need."
"My apartment hunt finally ended when I met with leasing agent Maria at the Meridian at Braddock. She was very patient, accommodating and efficient to help me find the best apartment for my needs. She made sure that everything was done on time and sent me helpful reminders and information. She expedited the process and with the greatest professionalism and kindness. The apartment is very nice, and I was pleased when I first entered it as it was clean and welcoming. I’ve also met with all of the office staff, and each one of them are terrific. The manager, Troy, was very helpful, and authorized/facilitated work and I requested to be done. I also met some very friendly neighbors at a meridians social event. Now I can’t wait to use swimming pool. I definitely would recommend The Meridian at Braddock."
"I’ll start off saying the front office folks are WONDERFUL. The units are spacious if not mostly outdated. The people who live here are very friendly, the dog park is beyond convenient, and the location is great. Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros. Upon move in, the apartment was filthy, but I had other more pressing issues (like unpacking), so I just cleaned. The first month was fine. Then things started to fall apart. Within 2 months, I dealt with unreliable and ineffective air conditioning for the latter part of June, all of July and now into august. It took a month of multiple tickets to get them to take this seriously. First they blamed a filthy filter which looked like it had never been cleaned. Then they blamed a faulty thermostat. Then I was told my compressor died. Then I was told it’s because I had dirty coils. Now? Evidently it’s leaking coolant so they’re fixing that. Their solutions have been to put two large ineffective window units in my apartment (during a time where air quality was dangerously bad) and the keys to an empty spare unit. On top of the AC issues, I’ve had my hot water go out twice with no explanation. My dishwasher stopped being effective and I had to push to get them to replace a filter. Maintenance has a tendency to want to put a temporary bandaid on issues, so anytime there’s an issue, google everything you can before and aggressively demand what actually needs to be done. My washing machine also randomly leaked drenching the surrounding carpeted areas. They provided no solution other than “let us know if it happens again” For a complex described as “luxury” it’s been anything but. The property manager is condescending, patronizing and largely unhelpful. He refused to put me in touch with management, and upon reaching out to paradigm directly, they’ve turned out to be no better. In fact, according to Paradigm, your apartment is considered habitable until it reaches 85 degrees. I asked her point blank if she could sleep in an 81 degree apartment, and she said no. I’ve had to board my dog multiple times while maintenance is here. I work from home, and this has been highly disruptive. After 4 escalations to Paradigm, the most they’re willing to offer is $800 to move into a different unit. That doesn’t even cover the price of the move. Not to mention the $237 power bill I received courtesy of an ineffective HVAC and 2 window units. The customer service is atrocious and I regret ever signing a lease here."
