"You don't want to live here, we did for two years, but few stay long. Like those floor to ceiling windows? Can't enjoy the view if you can't open the blinds; they've been about to replace those for almost two years now. Day one, with the moving truck circling the block for the loading dock that was to have been reserved, I was presented with a clean unit inspection that I had to sign to get the keys for a unit I had never seen, I signed Vi Coactus. Day two, "I found where the cat lady lived." That smell took months to get rid of. I got to learn all about enzyme cleaners... at my expense. Drywall screws for a conduit box, loose wires, I'll spare you the list, it's long. And the city of Arlington? They can't even inspect elevators. There's a "service" ticket bit on the website but good luck if your issue isn't trivial. I think the UX is just designed to encourage you to go away. How do you report, "my water pressure is so low I can't take a shower?" that's not on the list! That took months to get fixed and I had to do research and prove that it was the unit's pressure regulator--learned a lot about high rises. Speaking of plumbing, do you like hot water? I will admit the new boilers do go down less often! As for the garage... How do you feel about screws in your tires and boot prints on your hood (crack heads using our cars as a ladder to the construction area). Speaking of construction, banging on concrete carries louder and longer than you would believe. The renovations have years left to go and I've had to bail on more than one VC due to noise, that's not hyperbole, it's that loud. Speaking of LOUD, we have a big piece of foam in our HVAC closet but it doesn't help much, turn one on on your tour! CAN YOU HEAR THAT? THAT'S THE SOUND OF LUXURY! Summer last the rooftop pool was an open air drug mart, I'm not talking about a bit of weed. The final straw was the WiFi router they stuck on my living room wall. I can't have uncontrolled comms gear in my living space. I pulled the plug and received thinly veiled threats from building management; If you work in the IC then you know why this is a problem, my FSO strongly encouraged me to move. Google made me leave one star so I'll end on a good note: While the kitchen on our sailboat was more usable, the vent here does vent outside. Look, I know you've found reasons to like this apartment but don't do it! Dealing with this clown show is more time consuming than you think and given market conditions senior management has no incentive to care and lawyers are expensive in this town. The reply that may follow will just be some "reputation management" firm doing their job. I shalln't speculate on where the positive reviews come from."
"This isn’t in my true name as I don’t want a response from Liberty Tower. I want to leave honest feedback so future residents can make informed decisions. I rented here for many years. The last two years declined sharply downhill in my overall satisfaction with the property. The elevators are broken constantly, and you are stuck with one elevator during peak commute times. The building never has hot water. The dryers accumulate excessive dust and make your entire apartment filthy; when I asked why, I was told all the fans are broken and constantly break. The entire rooftop pool leaked down on all the apartments while I lived here. I had multiple instances where I dealt with water damage and the hallways were constantly filled with equipment to fix water damage throughout the building. Non-stop noise during the work day due to apartment renovations makes you have to leave because the drilling is so loud you get a headache (really sucks if you stay home sick from work). The door handles across the property always fall off, and I got stuck in the mail room once. The hallway to go out to the Courtyard always is filled with a roasting trash smell. The courtyard and loading dock area have a rat problem despite paying a pest fee. They raise your rent $600 when your lease is up. Providing photos, including one of a dead rat as proof that I am not exaggerating with my review. I have so many examples that I have an entire album titled Liberty Tower Property Damage from all the issues I observed in common spaces or experienced in my apartment. These are just some highlights."
"The price of renting goes up exponentially each year. They tried to raise our rent by about $500/month so we bought a house. They cycle through doormen rapidly. Most of them don’t even greet you when you walk by. Poorly trained. Elevators always seem to be broken. The community manager Jake Friedman is dishonest and unresponsive. He ignores emails (even after follow ups) and he lied about the month-to-month rent cost when we had to extend our lease a bit. Get it in writing!"
"Would give no stars if I could. The community manager Jake Friedman is terrible with communication and only cares about getting new residents in and not keeping current ones. We tried to keep our unit as we really loved the location and emailed Jake multiple times asking why our lease renewal was raised 30% after 1 year when the same units in the building were going online for the price we currently were paying - he never responded to our requests. When we gave our keys back it was as if it was an inconvenience for him to have to meet with us just to return our keys. When we moved out they charged us double utilities for 15 days (the non-electricity utility bills by itself for trash/sewage are >$150/m in the building FYI) and never gave us back our security deposit despite having a perfect move out inspection. We ended up having to contact Equity Residential headquarters to get the matter addressed because Liberty Towers would not respond to our numerous calls/emails per usual. Overall if you're looking for an apartment with an amazing location this is definitely the place but the management is absolutely terrible, the utility charges are triple the amount of other buildings in the area, and the management is not concerned about current residents whatsoever (if you notice almost all the positive reviews are from new residents moving in)."
"This is the worst property I've lived at in my 15 years as a renter, and Equity Residential is the worst property management company I've experienced. You'll be far better off renting at one of the Bozzuto properties across the street. At least one elevator is always broken so you'll need to give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes in the morning if you live on an upper floor. While there is a cleaning service that comes most days to clean the common areas (and they try!), everything always looks dingy and dirty, the property door handles frequently break off, and you can always smell the trash from the loading dock. The property manager is generally unresponsive and in the rare occasion he does respond, he's unhelpful. The renovations of the units themselves were completed with the cheapest material and labor possible and something is always broken or malfunctioning. We were supposed to have a new front load, stacked washer/dryer at move-in and never received it. We followed up with management and they said they never had those models of washer/dryer. After we sent them a picture of a unit with the washer/dryer we were promised (and that picture is still on their own website), management went radio silent. Our freezer has been broken off and on since move in and only quick fixes have been done despite being told we need a new part to prevent the horrendous clanking noise. Apartments were also measured for new blinds to replace the hideous and unfunctional 1980s-looking vertical blinds, but that project was never completed. The closet doors frequently get stuck and come off the rails because of the 1,200 coats of paint used to cover up damage instead of just replacing the door. The bathroom cabinetry is so thin it can't even support the weight of a toilet paper holder with a full roll. You're charged a "central boiler fee" every month and it's hundreds of dollars and you can't get an itemized receipt or see what the usage actually is. And no, it doesn't go down in the warmer months like you'd think. There are "smart" locks and thermostats that frequently glitch and are extremely loud so you can hear when everyone in your hall is coming and going (not to mention you have no way of ensuring your personal data isn't improperly used by the third party company that provides the service, or Equity Residential). The most egregious issue was probably the improper installation of the shower glass wall, causing it to shatter all over when opening the shower door. It then took nearly 3 months to replace and we never received a rent credit or other compensation for the lack of a functional bathroom that we were paying rent for. Equity residential is too cheap to hire/pay enough staff to properly run the building and it shows. The only reason we renewed our lease is because it was up the day of our wedding and moving then *may* have been a bigger headache than staying (which was also a painful process as rent was raised over 10% with all of these outstanding service/management issues). TL;DR save yourself the headaches and rent across the street where the luxury pricing actually matches what you get."
