"My time at Annapolis Bay was not ideal, and here are some reasons why: NEGATIVES 1. Around my second month there, the stench of urine outside my garage became extreme. There were yellow puddles on my car and concrete outside my apartment. I came to find out it was from the dogs above me peeing and pooping on the deck (disgusting & sad). After a total of 3 times of trying to contact the front office, with promises to handle the situation, attempts were finally made to do something. 2. There was a time when my girlfriend came home to a door being locked that neither of us had locked. Upon finally entering our place, things had been touched their neither of us touched and outlets messed with that we didn’t mess with. We, again, came to find out that forms of maintenance checks were being performed without our knowledge or any type of communication. I am now living in a different state, at a different apartment complex, and I get a typed letter of when and what times they’ll be coming into my place for maintenance (this is the standard) 3. On the maintenance side, work orders were very slow to a point where we had to buy our own ice machine before maintenance came to fix it, more than a month later. Also, the gates on the property rarely worked, and it was broken for the last 3 months I was there. 4. On the departure, the security deposit, which is suppose to be sent 45 days after check out, has yet to be sent to me almost 3 months later… THE NOT SO BAD/POSITIVES 1. From an overall arrival sense, we were greeted very friendly, but not given proper information about setting up the electric and gas with BGE, or the internet with Verizon. Much of what I found out was done through my own intuition or asking others around the property. Again, in my new apartment, I couldn’t even move in if I didn’t set up the electric/internet prior to move in (should be the standard). In Annapolis Bay, I was charged late fees for not setting up an account properly & could have totally been avoided if I was given a heads up prior to us moving into Annapolis Bay. 2. The pool and gym were well kept and the move in process was relatively quick and efficient. The staff in the front office tried to help me with many of the dilemas during my time there. Overall, I guess I “enjoyed” my time at Annapolis Bay. This “enjoyment” could have been a result of me not knowing any better, but as a fresh college graduate when I moved in, Annapolis Bay was a decent apartment for me. I would not recommend it to a friend, but it wasn’t the worst place in the world."
"I have been living at the Annapolis Bay going on my second year. I must say that, even though this property is an older property, I actually like it here. I have a few reasons why I like living here. Tyra & Damien ! Top-tier professionalism all the time. Tyra works in the rental office( rental agent ). I have to say that she has always been helpful and has always been professional with me whenever I had questions . She has always greeted me with a smile, as I have seen her greeted everyone that comes thru the door with a smile. Tyra is very knowledgeable of her job and when talking to her, she speaks great things about Annapolis Bay. When hearing this type of information it makes me feel that I made the right decision to renew my lease for another year. I also would like to speak about Damien ( maintenance). I have to give Damien his kudos as well. Even though he’s a one-man team right now, he is holding it down. Damien is always professional and nice . What I appreciate about him is that I can put in a ticket that morning and usually by the end of day he’s here. The other day in fact, I had an issue with my toilet being stopped up. I put in a ticket that morning and by that afternoon I called the rental office and spoke with Tyra. She immediately said she would reach out to Damien( even though) he had a lot of tickets that day . About 20 minutes later he was at my door ready to fix my toilet. With/ in a few minutes he had resolved the toilet issue. I want to say (Thank You) Tyra and Damien for all that you do and your work has not gone unnoticed. Keep up the ( exceptional) work!!!"
"I recently applied for an apartment at Annapolis Bay and completed the application. Upon entering the office, we were greeted by Ms. Tyra. She welcomed me and my daughter with a smile. Thanks to Ms.Tyra, she assisted me throughout the process. If it wasn't for her, I would have given up on the application. With her help, I didn't. I had never gone anywhere where a person was sweet, kind, patient, and had a sense of humor. Once I left her office, I called her back like twenty times and each time she answered it, she never seemed as if I was bothering her. I want to say thank you, thank you, and thank you. She's a keeper and very professional with her work. Great work, Ms. Tyra"
"I recently applied for an apartment at Annapolis Bay Apartments. After being a homeowner For 30 years, I was completely lost during the process. I am extremely happy that the Leasing Consultant was Ms. Tyra Lloyd. She was extremely helpful during the whole process, and with the assistance of the rest of the office staff, led me to my happy new apartment home. The community is exactly what I was looking for, private yet centric. The grounds are very well maintained and so are the buildings. If like me you are looking for a private quiet place with just the right amenities, you will not be disappointed when you contact Ms. Tyra Lloyd."
"Move in was December 21st I believe. Went out the country for the holidays and officially moved in January 28th. February 14th I saw my first unpaid guest- A roach. Called the front office- informed to buy bug spray. Two weeks later I did discover that I was scheduled for pest maintenance. They came and sprayed. Saw another one…..and another one. Did I see hundreds in my short time here- no. But in my years of apartment living I have seen none. I do understand that is community space and some things just happen and you have to be reasonable. But the response and response time just seemed like “they could care less” or it’s a known problem. February 23rd I requested an early termination, which I later confirmed shortly after. The complex does have an early termination clause, which is one months rent + 2 months notice. I asked to have the fee waived. My request was denied because I did not give them reasonable time to address the issue. Fine, I would rather pay the penalty then have my items become infested and I can move them out with speed. Here it is May- I have fully moved out and being notified of more move out fees that were excluded- they have an amenity fee and concession fee- another 750 charge in addition to my 2030.00 fee. Fine- it is what it is- I just want to be done with this place. Pros: Nicole- she tried her very best to find me a great apartment and communicating with me FAST on everything. Even called to give me all bad news, she still gets an A++ Maintenance- I cant remember names but they were nice, friendly and showed sympathy for all issues that I had. Noise- I mean its an apartment so you have reasonable noise from neighbors but where my unit was located the noise was minimal and it was nice. Garages- beautiful amenity. Cons: AC Stopped working. I put in a request they came to fix it and stated I had it on heat. To be fair – that day I did because its Maryland and the weather changed. But when on cold it did absolutely nothing! When moving in- dirty toilet seat. Had pee stains on it! So just check and clean before using anything. Ice maker- never worked Trash Fee- its another 15 bucks. Generally when I paid valet trash it was a fee associated with at door pickup. Noise- some units are near fire rooms. The alarm in the room was broke and for the first few weeks ( wasn’t even there 3 full months) I would sleep at my parents. They did fix this issue twice and AS FAST as they could. Insulation- terrible. Have my heat on 78 and still be cold. BGE Bill was always around 200 dollars for a 1 bedroom apartment. Gates- worked 50% of the time Bird caught in the dryer vent- that was fun! Went outside to see the vent had a large entry hole. This was repaired about 4 days later. While waiting grew tired of hearing it fight for its life and so ran the dryer to kill it. ROACHES!!!!! Pictures attached. – I only cooked in this apartment one time and after the first roach appeared in my sink that was that. One side of the complex is government housing and skeptical. The townhouses in front of the complex are nice but one lady was recently robbed while working in her garage. On the other side are decent houses and seemingly a nice area so its just a mixed bag of good and bad. Annapolis is not what it used to be. My apartment was listed available May 1st for 2200 a week after I moved out. It was rented- good luck whoever you are!"
