"This company took nearly seven months to return our security deposit and an extra month of rent my roommate was charged in error. They created one check with the deposits for myself and two former roommates, and the backrent of nearly $3k my roommate was over charged. That roommate picked up the check, lied to me about having it and tried depositing it without my knowledge. I asked Aventura to cancel the check. They cancelled it but for whatever reason maintained its just impossible for them to write me a check separate from someone who just tried to steal from me. We went back and forth for months over this until they finally agreed to split our checks. We were called to sign a contract agreeing to split the check. And now they reduced our security deposit by over $900 for a renovation they never mentioned prior. The first security deposit check they wrote was the full amount of the deposit. And to this day I never saw a receipt for what this charge was for. We sign the contract and months go by with the resident manager Daiquan Gore assuring me it would arrive any day now. But that was a lie, apparently its impossible for their accounting to split the check. So they say if we all agree for Aventura to write the check to a neutral third party who can disperse the funds. We agree to this and sign a new contract, several more months goes by with no clear update. I didnt get a clear response until I threatened to sue. Apparently the check got lost in the mail two separate times. When it finally arrived he tells me the check is not written to the neutral party like we agreed, that it has my name and the former roommates who tried to steal from me on the check. So exactly zero progress was made. It took them seven months to do absolutely nothing. Never have I seen a more incompetently ran business. And Daiquan didnt even apologize for wasting our time for seven months. Just "By the way the check wasnt written to the neutral party." Like we hadnt been waiting on a check for over $5,000 for seven months. I asked Daiquan three different times for his supervisor's information and he ignored each request. Because thats the type of manager he is: he screwed us over for seven months and doesnt want to be held accountable. And by the way, everything people said about the fire alarms is true. Theyd be set off regularly with an ear piercing alarm throughout the entire complex until the fire department responds and shut it off."
"If you value your genuine peace then do not move here. -The reviews about fire alarms are true; you won’t think it’s a big deal until you and your family get woken up by a piercing ringing at 3am. You come out to the roof only to realize it’s the 7th false alarm in the past two weeks. -The reports about car and apartment break ins are true. Especially if you have a newer car or a Corolla/Accord (your wheels), or a Hyundai/Kia (good luck, you’ll need it). The garage doors are truly useless and are broken most of the time. It is very easy for anyone to get in here. The fobs are a laughable mechanism; what is really needed would be security guards or constant checking of various entrances that are somehow propped open at 2am- but no, let’s focus on a new Pet Spa instead guys. That’s what the residents want. -Management is very iffy. They do seem to be polite on most days but you won’t actually feel heard. The consistently excellent staff member was Mariam (as other reviews indicate) but she is now gone too. I have heard of poor experiences with the rest -I have personally had no serious issues with appliances breaking or maintenance not being responsive for weeks at a time, but that is an issue that’s been pointed out a few times. For what it’s worth, the maintenance staff themselves are very nice and efficient when they’re not severely understaffed. -Between shady strangers roaming the halls, looking for the next apartment to break into. Or criminals that genuinely see this place as easy. Cars being stolen outright or tampered with (non-obvious break ins). The rent itself is not even lower to compensate; you’re still paying eye watering prices for all of this. Think very long and hard before deciding to move here. Do not get swayed by pointless amenities that you will not care for after week #2. Or that took way too long to build. Look elsewhere, there have to be better spots nearby. READ THE REVIEWS, don’t just go off of 5 star ones. You will not feel safe here"
"If you are thinking about moving here think again. I can’t wait until my Lease is up. The fire alarms are always going off. It went off today btw…Last month the fire alarm went off and someone tried to break into my home. I reported it to the rental office and they literally did nothing about it. I was told the property manager would speak with me but he never did. And yes I followed up on the matter. Not to mention there was a note in the elevator to meet on 2nd floor of building 7810 to discuss property safety concerns… i thought it was from the rental office because I reported that incident so I called the rental office to make sure the note was real and the lady said she didn’t know anything about it and laughed it off….. Cars are constantly being broken into and vandalized. There needs to be better security here. I don’t like living here, don’t feel safe, and can’t wait to move."
"My husband and I became residents of this apartment building in August 2023 after returning from living overseas for eight years and selling our home during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the complex touts itself as a luxury establishment, our experience has not matched that description. In this review, I aim to provide an honest account of our individual experiences, highlight areas for improvement, and acknowledge the strengths of this property. The Move-In: Upon moving into our renovated apartment, we were met with disappointment. The condition was far from satisfactory. Here's a breakdown of the issues we encountered: Lack of Move-In Preparation: There was a noticeable absence of a move-in prep checklist for the maintenance or cleaning staff. The floors, carpet, and bathroom were filthy, with remnants from previous occupants, including dog hair and hair clips. The oven had not been cleaned, and the space behind the stove was disgustingly dirty. Maintenance Issues: Outlets were missing screws from the plate coverings, maintenance was working on a broken toilet, and blinds from previous tenants were broken. The renovations appeared rushed, with poorly painted cabinets and paint splatters on the floors. The Next Morning: The following morning, we experienced a security issue when the wheels of our car were stolen. Local police connected this incident to a series of car break-ins and thefts in the area that weekend. The Bad: This apartment complex suffers from poor management, and it's unclear whether the fault lies with the property management team or the owners. Here are the issues we've encountered: Security: The complex desperately needs a nightly security patrol. The supposedly "secure" parking garage is inadequate, with garage doors that take too long to close, allowing unauthorized entry. Numerous neighbors have had their cars stolen or broken into since our arrival. Installing a more robust garage door system to prevent tailgating is a must. The past two weeks several cars were stolen and broken into. Criminals know this place is a weak spot. Several residents met and discussed their grievances. I know personally of three cars that were stolen and at least 6 break-ins, one car was broken in twice within a week. We will start collecting police reports as proof that something needs to change! Broken Entrance Doors: Several entrance doors leading from the secure garage to the apartment complex are broken, allowing unauthorized access. Lost/Missing Spare Keys: Management should review the keys for every unit and change locks if spare keys are lost or missing to ensure residents' security. Tow Truck Company: The current tow truck company is unreliable and often unresponsive. Implementing a nightly security patrol could help address parking issues effectively. Insufficient Lighting: There are dark areas in the parking garage and around the building, posing potential safety risks. The Good: While our experience has been marred by various issues, some staff members have stood out for their excellent customer service: Dequan has been consistently helpful. Mariam, who was previously in the leasing office, is no longer there, and her absence is regrettable. Andre, David, and Aaron have provided exceptional customer service and have shown genuine care for the residents' well-being. In Conclusion: Is this place absolutely horrible? No, but it falls short of the luxury branding it claims. The quality of service appears to be declining. I urge the management to listen to the residents' concerns and push the owners to allocate more resources for necessary improvements before someone gets hurt."
