"My experience with Allegro Apartments have been a great one. Beautiful glass windows, luxury amenities, good positive atmosphere, effective and efficient leasing staff, the location is definitely 5 stars alone rating , and so much more. 5 ⭐️ experience."
"Working with the leasing team at Allegro has been a very straightforward and enjoyable process. I initially moved into the building in June 2023 and have had a great living experience. The maintenance team responds very promptly to requests, and the front desk staff are very kind and always willing to assist. In addition, the building has all the best amenities and the location is excellent. In particular, working with Jordan and Ernesto to find an apartment and even make changes to my lease has been far above satisfactory and I recommend that anyone interested in moving to NW DC give the Allegro a close look and reach out to the team."
"Very happy to have called this place home for the last five years! Nice amenities, convenient location, good value for the price, and the friendliest and most-responsive staff you could ask for. Really, really appreciate the front desk and maintenance staff especially who show so much care and initiative in their work!!"
"Edit: Building is not rent stablized or rent controlled and they gauged this year. Original: I've lived here for close to a year and I've had a wonderful experience. My apartment is laid out thoughtfully to maximize space and natural light. The leasing office and concierge staff are friendly and helpful, and maintenance has always been prompt on the few occasions I've had issues. Highly recommend!"
"Have lived here over 2.5 years. Overall, a decent place to live. 90% of the time, management/maintenance handles problems promptly and satisfactorily. The other 10% of the time it can be like pulling teeth to get resolution to a problem. It is rare that a problem simply goes unresolved though - usually, a satisfactory solution is reached sooner or later. I appreciate that there are community events and periodic improvements to the building - it feels like they are making the effort to make Allegro a better place to live. The courtyards are nice and so are the apartment interiors. I have generally found the core concierge staff to be friendly and welcoming. I live in the basement level and it has some drawbacks. Mice are a chronic problem. The mice issues in my apt were minor for most of my stay but recently got worse. You must be extremely vigilant about not making your apt attractive to mice. Also on this floor, the smell of trash often drifts down the halls from the trash room. That gets old. Thirdly, I can rarely go out to my terrace-level patio without getting swarmed by mosquitoes from the courtyard (or neighbors’ plants). The neighborhood, Columbia Heights, is not celebrated for its safety. If you walk around as much as i do, you will eventually see it all: people drugged out or passed out on the sidewalk, fights, audacious adolescent behavior like kids throwing eggs at pedestrians or spitting at the elderly, tons of broken glass on the sidewalk (attn: dog walkers)… the list goes on. I have heard nearby shootings and I stay on constant alert when walking at night. I suspect women walking alone are at high risk for harassment. Speaking for men only, if you practice common sense and pay attention to your surroundings, you can stay safe. I am leaving DC but I would stay here longer for the same COVID-era rent rate. For current “market value,” though, i would browse what else is around DC before committing here again. I am in need of a change — primarily due to the neighborhood."
