The Highlands of Chevy Chase

"I have lived in Highland House East for the last three years, and it has overall been a good experience. Khadijah is a wonderful leasing agent and very professional and friendly. I enjoy getting to speak with her and she has worked at Highland house for as long as I have lived here. Additionally, Felix, Tina, and Joseph are fantastic at the front desk. There has been a lot of turn over for people at the desk, but these three have been phenomenal over the last year. They are extremely friendly to me and will give me my packages or greet me when they see me. Additionally, I have not experienced any issues with maintenance responding to my requests. Lastly, my immediate neighbors are wonderful. I know this is not the experience that everyone has, and it really depends what floor you live on to determine what kind of neighbors you'll have. The reason why I have given Highland House a four star is because higher management can sometimes take exceedingly long to respond to concerns. Also, when the washers/dryers break, it takes excessively long for them to be fixed. It took months before the washers were fixed. While most people living here are nice, some people have extremely nasty reactions to our large dog (who is a gentle giant). Lastly, the elevators are being modernized and it can take up to seven minutes sometimes for an elevator to show up. It is especially frustrating when visitors (because there are businesses here too) take the elevator up one floor, and there should be more communication to business owners to encourage those visitors to take the stairwell when possible to alleviate some of the congestion stemming from the construction. Overall, the experience has been positive with some minor hiccups."

"My girlfriend and I have lived here since July and we love it. The staff (especially Felix) is top tier, the neighbors are friendly and laid back, the area is safe and peaceful, we’re two blocks from a metro station, and maintenance responds to any issues quickly and professionally. They’re also aggressively upgrading the elevators and laundry rooms so everything will be pretty much brand new eventually."
