"I lived here like 8 years ago. I was curious to see what they are renting for nowadays and i’m mind blown on how much they are changing for such crappie apartments. Our apartment was infested with bedbugs. First night sleeping there my husband woke up with welts on him. We didn’t know it was bed bugs until a few days later. Every morning he woke up covered with welts. It got to the point where we pitched a literal tent in the dining room and he’d sleep with gloves on, a hoodie, long pants and long socks. He would tape around his ankles and wrist to keep his skin from as much exposure as possible. The only skin he would leave exposed was his face. I would put pieces of double sided tape on the outside of the tent and would wake up with so many bed bugs not only stuck on the tape but on the screen you could see them trying to get in. We only stayed like 2 months before we moved out. Left our couch’s and most of the furniture. The furniture we did take was all hard furniture we took apart and cleaned outside of the apartment building prior to putting it in the moving truck. We wiped it down again before moving it in to the place. Took all of our clothes and everything that could fit in a dryer at a laundry mat and ran everything at the laundry mat then put it in brand new trash bags before taking it to the new house. I tried DE powder for the bed bugs and when I unscrewed the wall plates around the electrical outlets there were so many bed bugs packed into each one it was just disgusting. Called about having someone come out to treat the apartment and that never happened. Just kept getting the run around. We tried bombs ourselves and everything we possibly could. And that was just the bed bugs. The apartment was infested with roaches and mice too. Absolutely horrible living conditions. We would take the tent down every morning and keep it outside during the day because it was January and freezing out. In attempt to keep them from getting in the tent. Eventually they did manage to get in there and even trying to freeze them to death didn’t work. The psychological effects knowing when you go to sleep you’re going to have these bugs all over you is enough to make anyone go crazy. Then adding roaches and mice on top of that. Oh yeah and there was a literal trap house in the apartment right underneath of us. Someone kicked the door in and robbed the people who were supposed to be watching it and dealing for the boss. So that was fun too. People in and out all hours of the day and night and partying, then the violence because why not risk also being shot in your sleep while the bed bugs are eating away at you and the roaches and mice are parting in your home. Worst experience living anywhere ever! I really hope they got all those issues taken care of. If not you should be ashamed of yourselves charging people that much money for the literal hell they are living in."
"I have been here for 2 years now and I can honestly say that my building is quiet. I do have a problem with the MICE! They are not controlling these apartments as far as rodents and bugs. These apartments are old and I just think they should be better maintained. You know you wouldn't mind paying a little extra for a decent apartment. I am here because of the affordable rent. But I am seriously considering moving someplace else once I find something that is affordable for me."
"The rental office team are absolutely fantastic and helpful people. Michael has been an absolute blessing for me through the process. He got back to my general info request practically right away,, and so I signed up for an appointment same day about 50 minutes before the appointment time. I wasn't banking on an agent getting back to me in time but Michael actually got back to me pretty much immediately and told me come on down. Went on down and explained my situation and how I was trying to get into an apartment pretty much soon as possible. He completely understood my situation and went over the info on the available apartment he had and took me to check out the demo unit. Loved it and he got the ball rolling with setting everything up for the application. Got a call next afternoon that unfortunately the unit would need more time but Michael had a new one come up more in the price range I was looking for and wasn't even supposed to go on market just yet and Michael looked out for me big time and ran the application on new unit. Called back almost instant to tell me I was approved. Absolutely excited. Apartments look great, seems like a nice little friendly community, fitness center is nice. My man Michael really looked out for me and got me from application to approved in less than 24 hours and helped me a ton with the whole process. So thankful!"
"I'm new to Oak Grove and have a positive experience thus far. I have been impressed with the condition of my apartment and have met some very friendly neighbors. The appliances are also good name brand machines and new. The issues I consider negative would be the lack of parking along Cedar Drive, what looks to be high iron in the water and some pest problems (mice) although I haven't seen one yet, just heard them at night a couple times. I expect my experience to continue to be positive one as I get use to the parking, get in the habit of running the water an extra couple of minutes and set some mice traps out."
