"Been living here a little over a year now. It's mostly been good, but I wish they were more transparent about things. I currently live in one of the old buildings (they are just finishing a new one) Pros: The layout is nice and different than most apartments. The extra storage is amazing. The maintenance workers are so kind and try to help the best they can. We love the screened in porch (which some people don't have). It's a nice quiet community. Cons: There was a little confusion when. We were first looking at the apartment on whether or not we'd actually get to tour it before we signed the lease. Luckily we got to. They are not transparent on their website about all the different layouts of the apartments. Each apartment is different (some more than others) due to it being a converted building. Our floorplan isn't like any of the ones listed on the website. Now I know that it's more work to post every different layout, but I have seen apartment buildings in the area that are much bigger than here that take the time to post all the different layouts with the correct square footage. We are in a 2 bedroom and only have 1 bathroom. The website shows that all their 2 beds have 2 baths. I was rather disappointed and a bit upset when we found out it only had 1. They are not transparent about the prices for apartments. The prices are not listed on the website, which I know some other places don't always list price, but nowadays I feel like it is more common than not to have your price listed. To me when you don't show price upfront, it just seems like you are doing some shady business, which leads me to the next point We pay the same amount for our 2 bed 1 bath as our neighbors pay for their 2 bed, 2 bath with much more square feet. Both our neighbors and us were not to happy and quite surprised to find that out. They were actually the ones who thought for sure we should be paying less. And the price isn't cheap. All the windows leak cold/hot air, and not just a little. I can literally feel a draft when I lay in bed in the middle of my room. And the thermostat doesn't really know the temperature in most rooms so it's either too hot or too cold. So either be ready to have a really high energy bill, or be uncomfortable most of the year. On top of that, most of the windows don't work. They either don't stay open, won't open, or get stuck open. Sometimes there is water in the basement storage after heavy rain. We have had our storage broken into and stuff stolen. Also had mail packages stolen. Luckily it seems they have taken care of both these issues but still thought I would mention it so you know. Cons that aren't as bad but still there: One of our living room lights has stopped working and it's not the lightbulb. Every time we do our laundry, the washer machine triggers the electric plug to turn off, so we constantly have to turn that back on. The water pressure on the shower is not that great (we are on the second floor, can't imagine what it's like on the top) The top floor smells like cigarette smoke. Anyway, I know it's an old building and it's going to have problems, but that doesn't mean they can't be taken care of. And they just built a brand new building...so apparently they have some money. And yes, this is definitely a nicer apartment compared to a lot of places in Baltimore area, but that doesn't mean that we can let all the problems slide, in fact, I would expect it to be held to a higher standard. Yes, I would still recommend to a friend, mostly because the area is nice and I like the layout. But I would definitely let my friend know the issues before they moved, which is why I'm letting you know."
"Absolutely horrible! I had an apartment tour scheduled and I wanted to see the Encore at Ingram Manor but when I pulled up it was under construction. So there I am walking around the complex very confused. I go to the old building because I figure maybe I can at least tour the old building and ask questions regarding the new building during my tour. I get there and there’s an intercom so I talk to the leasing office and the lady Amy asks to speak with me on the phone. When we’re on the phone she’s asking me all these questions and trying to figure out if I even had an appointment which I did! She tells me the Encore is under construction and therefore I cannot see it. I also want to add she said she hasn’t been inside. How are you a leasing agent and you’ve never even stepped foot inside the property!? How are you qualified to talk about a property you’ve never even seen? Clearly they don’t have a real leasing office and just have people working from home, who knows if they’re even in this country? She asks me if I saw her email 2 days prior and grills me for not having seen it. The email was clearly automated and it was just breaking down the different rooms the Encore offers and stated nothing about there being no apartment for me to view currently so I’m not sure why that was relevant. I ask to see the old building since I was there for a tour and I already drove all that way. She tells me they don’t have any models. So I ask, “why allow me to make an appointment for a tour when there’s no apartments to show me?” She claims it’s a system error. Absolutely ridiculous! I stood outside the building talking on the phone for 20 minutes when she knew full well there wasn’t anything to show me and she wasn’t even on site! Extremely unprofessional. This place is clearly poorly managed and they will waste your time so don’t even bother with this place! Y’all need to get your sh!t together."
"It's an old building. Problems are inherent in an old building. The main concern is the plumbing. We have no water pressure in the showers even though we replaced the shower head with our own (as advised by the maintenance crew). Also, the water changes temperature from very hot to very cold without warning. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and the maintenance crew is extremely responsive, but some things just can't be corrected because of the age of the apartments."
"I have lived in Ingram Manor for seven months now and have been constantly impressed with the quality of the service, first with Amy Chong in management and now with the maintenance service. Amy spent so much time getting to know me and helping me to feel at home in my new home that I grew to feel that I could always discuss concerns with her. And I have. She is well spoken, caring, intelligent, and very knowledgeable about all things David Brown. Amy is the first Ingram Manor asset I met. She is still my "go to" person when I have a question. Even living with the nightmare of construction in front of my windows, the interior of the building has been kept immaculate. I recently made a service request, through Amy, for a few maintenance issues in my apartment. Andrew, my personal candidate for sainthood, fixed them perfectly by the next morning, all while apologizing for not being able to have had time the day before. Andrew is always professional and delivers fabulous results. He is another of Ingram Manor's best assets. Andrew's excellent service, attention to detail, superb skills, and kindness are all valued and truly appreciated. Thank you so much."
"I moved to Ingram Manor after having spent close to 50 years in my beautiful comfortable house. The entire process of locating the apartment and moving in has been an extraordinary experience! I was treated as family from day one! Michael who manages the complex, Amy, who managed my move-in, and Andrew who did an excellent job in getting the apartment ready comprised an A1 team…second to none! I am looking forward to enjoying my new home!"
