"I'm used to being asked for my ID at the register, but this time I got asked three separate times if I was old enough to be there and if I had an ID on me. They were kind of passive aggressive about it too. When we went to checkout, the cashier seemed really annoyed to be helping us. The store itself had good inventory, but the whole experience was uncomfortable."
"I was there with my mother Christmas shopping, and typically I don't make a fuss about showing someone my id or someone asking to see it. HOWEVER I was looking at the little alcohol bottles thinking about getting one and the one lady(50-60s) at the counter on the right looks at me and says "I need to see your id, seeing you touch the alcohol bottles is making me uncomfortable" she said this in a rude demeaning tone, one you would use if you're talking to a delinquent child. Instead of stooping to her level I said "sure here is my id" she sees 1999 at the end of my birth year LET OUT A SCOFF and doesn't even apologize. Someone I know works here and he always is so nice and has great customer service however this lady was so out of line and even her coworkers didn't reprimand her on her bad behavior AND IF I DID THIS AT MY JOB I'D BE REPREMANDED almost instantly. I was gonna buy some Christmas gifts, and I didn't because she killed the vibe. If I bought something I would be able to give an exact time but I know I was there before 1pm but definitely after 11 am. so if this company would like to actually take action it would be appreciated. I was there 12/19/2023"
"If you buy online and have it shipped to the local store, they charge you $shipping. If you buy online and have it shipped to your house it is free? But I need to be home to sign for it, otherwise its returned and I am charged a restocking fee. Make this make sense. Gov't run, this is what you get. Higher prices chase ppl to neighboring states, and very limited selection."
"I went up to the store on Sunday not realizing that it didn't open until 11 AM and I thought the door was accidentally locked. When I saw somebody inside they became very angry at me And just started slamming on the door showing me the time and that I was too early.. Then I had to awkwardly wait until they opened and had an unpleasant conversation with the woman to remind her. That it cost $0 to be kind. Also why are you hitting your own door? Take that rage somewhere else When I was talking with somebody else who was also waiting outside, They inform me that they know this lady and intentionally know to never go to her register. Because she's a mean person. There are so many employment opportunities. There is no need to be miserable in your own job. I will be avoiding this place now on. I didn't even need to get her name because I'm very sure once management reads this, they'll now exactly who I am talking about."
"Non-existent customer service. Complete apathy, as one would expect from a liquor store run by the state. I asked about the availability of an item and was told I can look that up online. I replied that I did, and it was in stock in a location near Erie. The response was that they don't have it there, I could order it online. Patience being worn, I responded that I could more easily just buy it in Maryland. Her response was a simple shoulder shrug. PA really needs to privatize the liquor stores. They drive customers to neighboring states with their lackluster selection, high prices, and disinterested staff."
