Reviews of Eagle Rock Apartments at Columbia
"I was hoping to become a prospective resident however after calling the corporate office and speaking to someone named Melissa She was very rude and not informative at all. She had a attitude, not friendly at all. She also hung up on me. I’m glad U had the experience upfront because I’d hate to be a tenant ealing with this. Melissa please be kind there’s more cruel things in this world than your attitude"
"Eagle Rock was my front runner of apartment rental in Columbia. After getting a head start on moving plans, and spending months trying to deal with office staff for move-in and having nothing but continue frustration and letdown, I decided no apartment was worth this much trouble and decided find another rental in the area, despite applying for and putting a hold deposit on an Eagle Rock unit months prior to my move-in date. Months before my move, I scheduled many tours of area rentals and Eagle Rock was by far the ideal apartment. I applied and decided to put a hold on an apartment, spending hundreds of dollars only to then have failed communication, lack of information, and an apartment not held. Half my emails didn’t get responses and the office staff rarely answered the phone. Some trips to the office, during business hours, I even found the office closed and doors locked. I was told I could move my hold to another apartment unit if I called or emailed, and when my desired unit became available, I called and emailed to find no answer or reply. Weeks before my move-in I had to call the corporate office to get any contact with the local property management office. The local office called me the same day because the “needed to get in contact with me” only to tell me the unit with my hold deposit was no longer available. I was told they could move me to a similar unit that was available. A few days later after receiving the incorrect information about my new apartment, I called numerous times and emailed with no answer or reply and decided to search elsewhere. I emailed the general property management office email expressing my disappointment and received a call from a different office member. I was told both the application and hold deposit were nonrefundable even though, clearly, the hold deposit never actually held my unit and the apartment my hold was “moved to” I never received the correct and accurate information for. By far the worst experience with a property management company, and no matter how nice the units are I would never move to a unit in this property."
"Day to day living, Eagle Rock is adequate, classic apartment furnishing mid-grade and safe neighborhood cove. However, I would not have lived there knowing what I know now. The office staff NEVER answers the phone and they do not record keep accurately and attempt to overcharged me at the end of my lease after my repeated emails, visits and voicemails that I saw the posted charge in error. I had to block the request with my bank. They WILL take money from your security deposit for water/sewer rubs, I asked repeatedly not to do this and that I would pay and they did not communicate that to their corporate."
"My experience here has been very good. I relocated from my home in NJ and the search for an apartment in Columbia was pretty daunting. Everything looks good from the outside but...the devil is in the details. Eagle Rock may be a bit more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. This is an older complex built in the 80's but they really do an excellent job with upkeep and maintenance and the room sizes are wonderful for an apartment. A few things that were very important to me and I think any apartment seeker would find helpful...it is quiet. My unit is nestled between 4 other units. There is literally someone above me, on each side of me and the back and I hear nothing. My unit faces the parking lot and it is still quiet. Because the units are older (mine is refurbished), there is the occasional maintenance request. They are very responsive, usually the same or next day. My experience with the maintenance staff and customer care has been excellent overall. I had some issues with not being notified when someone was coming in for service but we were to rectify that very quickly and this no longer a problem. The maintenance staff is very professional and thorough and I really appreciate that because I am very particular about maintenance coming from owning my own home. I love the layout of the rooms and the grounds are beautifully maintained. My only complaint is that I have to sweep after the landscapers come because they always blow debris in front of my door. Makes me crazy, but that is a minor annoyance. If you are in the market for an apartment, I highly recommend considering Eagle Rock."
"We just moved in a month ago. Transferred from a sister property. They really try and work with you when it comes to transferring. I have to say this place has really grown on us in the last month. We absolutely love the surrounding area and all the walking paths and fall colors going on with the trees. Diana and Heather from the office are absolutely wonderful and kind. CJ from maintenance is quick to complete any thing you need. I have had some odd requests the first month and one late at night when we thought we did not have a key. His response time is very fast. He even threw out the garbage for me once. Everyone keeps to there self. There is a bus stop for the kids out front and a commuter bus to DC and to the mall that stop out front as well. The apartments are a bit older inside and you can tell by the small kitchen, windows, shelving and closet doors and overall outdated layout of the apartments. But you have tons of windows to look out clean new carpet or hardwood floor spacious bedrooms and dens and closets. The only thing i really don't like is the super small bathroom and kitchen. That's why I took 1 star away."
