"I can no longer see my review so I am reposting but will soften the language regarding the Special Focus Facility. Take it from a medical malpractice paralegal: do not let your loved ones go here. Those contemplating sending a loved one here, please visit the CMS Special Focus Facility website. My mom was admitted to Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital for pneumonia and was discharged to Friendship Ridge for what was supposed to be a few weeks of rehab. She nearly died there just one week later. I visited her one day and she was going over her finances and looking at recipes with me. She seemed fine. Later that day she began babbling. Her nurses however were not concerned and said that she was fine. I took her blood sugar but my monitor could not get a reading because her sugar was too high. I convinced a nurse to take it and it did not read on his monitor either. Long story short, they gave her 19 units of insulin to get her blood sugar below 600. The next morning I went to visit her and she was unresponsive. I ran to find her nurse who told me that she was fine without even bothering to come look at her. Unbelievable. I then went to find his supervisor Elizabeth who did the same thing: determined that my mom was fine without even looking at her. I told her I was calling 911 which prompted her to come with me to Mom’s room. There she found my mom staring into space, not reacting to anything at all. The supervising nurse told me again that she was fine and that nothing was going to be done for her. I got my mom to the hospital where she was diagnosed with sepsis, UTI, dehydration, MRSA, pneumonia, severe excoriation and was diagnosed with “severely altered mental status”. Mom’s condition was so bad that doctors advised my family to plan her funeral. Mercifully, Mom pulled through and a few days later she opened her eyes. Yet, Brighton said she was fine. There is much more to this story but my point is made. Please advocate for your loved ones and keep them out of here."

"The staff was absolutely wonderful in caring for my stepbrother. I received regular updates. I truly feel they cared. A special shout out to nurses Paula and Alisa on One West. I would have rated Brighton 5 stars but they are understaffed like every medical facility right now. The nurses are truly saints!!"

"My brother stayed here during his end of life. I was impressed at how upbeat and kind the nurses and aides were with all the patient interactions I was around. My brother was kept clean and the nutritionist tried everything she could to entice him to eat. My sister and I got to pray with him during his last day and he was so in peace and comfortable. I'm very grateful for how everyone worked with us and how respectful and kind they were to everyone. I recommend Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center."

"My husband is currently in this facility and I couldn't be more disappointed and frankly appalled. He is there for a brain injury from falling from scaffolding. It's scary and hard to deal with but we're trying to hang in there. What makes it hard is a facility that is not capable for keeping him clean, feed correctly, pt (so he can come home), lack of communication (not EVER answering phones), etc....... If my insurance would cover somewhere else that has a bed open, he would be out! Do not send your loved ones here unless you really have to."

"My Aunt was recently at Brighton Rehab and she passed. She was in Grove 3, third floor. The staff was so attentive, supportive and compassionate that I am touched. I can’t speak for the rest of the facility, but from my personal experience I cannot say enough about you all on that floor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care you provided. I hope the administration acknowledges your superb efforts."
