"I came in on 1-10-24 for flu-like symptoms. Their website says they close at 8:00 pm so I showed up at 7:15 pm. I was turned away because they weren't taking any other patients. I explained to them that I needed to get tested because my two-month pre-mature son is being released from the NICU in Morgantown on 1-11-24 and I didn't want to take a chance of getting him sick. They referred me to the one by Perkins and said that they'd likely tell me the same. I went to the other location and they first turned me away. I explained the situation, and the lady at the front desk went away for a second, came back, and said that they would see me. I tested positive for Covid. I thanked them for seeing me and left. I understand wanting to leave work on time, but those in healthcare should not care more about wanting to leave work on time than the health of those seeking treatment. I will never go back to the Elm Grove location. I would like to thank the PA at the one by Perkins who spoke with me for 10 minutes about what to expect. That's professional healthcare. Elm Grove should model the professionalism of the Perkins location."
"Honestly the worst experience ever!!! They make you schedule an appointment and run over an hour behind! I took my sick child there not only do you have to sit there forever you can't even go to your car so you can at least lay down if your sick. I don't know who thought this appointment thing was going to be a good idea but it clearly is not!!!! It was alot nicer when we could at least sit in our cars to wait. I won't be going back here after waiting 1hour and 45min to see a doctor with an appointment! They used to care about their patients but that is clearly not the case anymore."
"Went to this Medexpress because I was extremely ill. I NEVER go to the doctor or ER, so if I’m there it has to be bad. Made an appointment online, due to reading other reviews in this thread. My appointment was at 11:30 and I arrived at approximately 11, waited 4 hours to be seen with an appointment, which is crazy in itself. Once I got back to see the nurse practitioner, she stated I had the flu. I told her how terrible I felt and she said there was nothing she could do for me and I just had to wait it out. So I waited 4 hours extremely Ill to the point of passing out, paid a 50$ copay for nothing. After a slight dispute, she finally agreed to prescribe me Tamiflu. I will NEVER return to this Medexpress location. It is worth noting that the receptionist is nice, other than that awful experience."
"Went to this Med Express on Sunday 12/17 to try and get treated before the work week and before my symptoms became worse. All Med Expresses are appointment only now, which is news to me and probably everyone else. The person at the front desk was kind and they were able to get me back into a room in a timely manner. I think that $200 up front for self pay is insane. They tell you that you can come back within 10 days if you’re not better for no cost. Why would I need to come back if you treated me properly in the first place?! I tested negative at home for Covid. They tested me for the flu which was negative and then tell me I have a mystery illness that has been getting everyone since Thanksgiving and I just need to wait it out. Basically I wasn’t sick enough for them since my symptoms started the day before. She told me if I get worse, come back. I get head colds and sinus infections about twice a year and usually seek anti biotics for treatment (usually just 1 of those 2 times) which has me better in no time. The last time I had anti biotics for an illness was about a year ago and went to Urgent Care. So I can’t even remember how long it’s been since I’ve been to a Med Express, probably 2 years or so. It’s not like I’m coming in every few months wanting antibiotics or a frequent flyer. She prescribed me cough medicine which my pharmacy did not even have and wouldn’t have until the next day in the afternoon. I had to work all week which is why I went on Sunday to get treated. The cough medicine had Sudafed in it so I got Sudafed from the pharmacy instead. It is now Saturday, one week since symptoms started and I am still sick. Had they treated me properly and not acted like antibiotics are the new pain medicine, I would be back to health by now. They want to argue viral versus bacterial illness but it works every time I’ve been prescribed for the same symptoms so it doesn’t make sense to me one way or the other. Whenever I try and fight these colds on my own, they just get worse, I’ll be sick for a week plus and anything over the counter does not work. Which I expressed when I was seen. I am not wasting gas and time to go back down there to try and get treated again for the same thing. Ridiculous. I am extremely upset I paid $200 for absolutely nothing. I think I’ll stick to Urgent Care after this experience."
"Rene bent over backwards to help me. The nurse practitioner was awesome. The other lady whose name I will withhold that took care of me on my recheck was very rude. Otherwise a good experience."
