Mercy Health - Howland Medical Center

"(Edited from 2 stars to 3, would be 3.5 if I could give it, great Dr, will up to 4 if things go really well but otherwise it’s staying at this). Walk ins are for a nurse practitioner. Usually not much of a problem, but they don’t or can’t do much and can’t send you to get any scans or to see specialists (maybe X-rays, not sure about those). Have been having several issues for 2 months (edit: 3 month almost) now. Went in early June. Soonest I can see my actual Dr is MID August (edit: seen, great Dr, just terrible availability everywhere it seems, at least something may been done regarding me seeing a specialist soon, I hope). Also, found out that that apparently they are closed and don’t do walk ins on Thursdays, or at least that’s what I was told (edit: this hasn’t been a problem since, have no idea why it was then, wasn’t a holiday or a holiday week when I was told they’re closed that day). People are generally nice and all, just terrible availability when you might have something seriously wrong with you. I assume follow ups will be next year due to December holidays and Thanksgiving delays, and I’m serious about that, it’s been that delayed recently (edit: it’s early December, soonest time available, but in all fairness my follow up was for mid-November). Sad, because it’s a nice facility with many nice people. I rarely go to the Dr, but when I need my Dr for something I expect at least a reasonable timeframe or for someone else to help enough to make a difference. Instead I get nice people who either won’t, but usually can’t do anything other than tell me to go to the ER in a few days of pills don’t help, and the ER can cost a lot, and that’s without any scans. Further Edit: My Dr heard me out very well, very knowledgeable, seems it could be something serious too, but hopefully not. Got some advice and prescriptions to try and help. Going to see a specialist, however they haven’t scheduled me in yet or it they did they didn’t tell me, so I’ll call or go in after the weekend to see what’s up with that. Also got blood work, just walked in was was done in 10 minutes from when I walked in. All of my visits there were all pretty quick and straight forward to the main points."

"Yes very good service I didn't even have a Dr to go to they got me right in and did a thorough evaluation of me and I feel great thank you everyone at this wonderful place I felt comfortable and didn't even wait too long either in about 5-10 mins next up surgery : I'll let cha know but I'm happy so far !!"

From start to finish, everyone I interacted with was courteous, professional and thorough. From the check-in associate who made sure I got the best out of my insurance; to the nurse who took my vital signs and answered my many questions; to the physician who listened closely to my symptoms, checked me out completely and explained my condition patiently and clearly, everyone was at the top of their game. It was almost as if I was their only patient, although the waiting area was full. Even with a wait for lab test results and analysis by the physician, I was there just over an hour. And the prescription I received knocked out my symptoms in less than 24 hours. I would highly recommend Mercy Health Urgent Care. I only wish most doctors’ offices provided the kind of professional, customer-first care I received at Mercy."

"Went to Mercy Health urgent care on 02/16/2023. Excellent experience! Was seen by Nurse Practitioner, Kurt. Was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Time spent there was one and a half hours, which included X-rays! Everyone we came in contact with was very nice!"

"Sitting in waiting room now. The admissions women are talking so loud the entire floor can her them. One was rude to my wife and I. Couldn't find our records in their system even though we've been going to a Mercy Doctor for years. Spend the extra 30 minutes and go to UH or Cleveland Clinic. Worst experience at a medical facility in decades."
