Mountain State Brewing Co
About the Business
Mountain State Brewing Co. is one of West Virginia's oldest distributing microbreweries, with locations in Morgantown, Bridgeport, and Thomas. Established in 2005, this institution is known for its easy-drinking session ales and wood-fired artisan flatbread pizzas. The brews range from a light American blonde ale to a nut brown amber ale to a coal black oatmeal stout. The original tap room and pub in Thomas offers a full menu and special events, while the Morgantown location features flagship brews on tap and a menu centered around their wood-burning brick oven. The newest location in Bridgeport, established in 2018, offers the same brews and menu with a large outdoor patio. With operating hours throughout the week, Mountain State Brewing Co. is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy delicious food and craft beer in a cozy atmosphere.

"It’s nice to eat and have a drink along the rail trail, but the food is terrible. I got the portabello sandwich and it’s just white bread, hummus and a few thin slices of raw, unseasoned mushroom with a bag of chips on the side. My friends’ pulled pork and pulled chicken were very dry and bland. In the past I tried the margarita pizza and it was also terrible. The beer is fine, but nothing to write home about. May stop for a drink after a rail trail walk again, but I’ll never eat there again."
"So, I've been around the world. I have eaten many cuban sandwiches even in cuba. I'm traveling this week to Nashville, TN. Staying over in Morgantown, WV. So my best cuban in the country was Tampa, FL airport. I know really an airport, trust me. It's good. Well, that's history, I stopped at Morgantown state brewery for dinner on the waterfront. What an amazing sandwich and prices. Had the cuban sandwich, and instead of chips, I had a chicken ceaser on the side. Prices blew me away. So as of now, the best cuban sandwich in the United States is here. Check the photos out. Do yourself a favor. Stop here if you ever come thru here. They do need a sign that draws people in it was a little hard to find. So if the owner reads this light up your entrance. I was a restaurant owner for many years light it up to draw them in."
"Food is usually excellent but last few times the service has been a bit slow. Most recent visit I almost ate a piece of plastic that maybe broke off from something in the kitchen? ended up in my nachos & kind of ruined the experience. Waitress took it off the bill but wasn’t very friendly about it"
"Have eaten inside, several times since last review. Back to normal service inside, great pizza place. Do wish they had better tables , in back area on way outside. With a party if 5 , get stuck there at each visit for years. Tables wobbly, don’t fit together well. Atmosphere is not the same as on left side. Going to request different seating next visit. Eat here a lot for years… look at my take out pizza. So burned not even top was eatable, bagged up for trash. Really shouldn’t been place in a box to bring home. Would you serve at a table?"
"I've been coming to the Brewing Co for years and they almost never disappoint. I love their pesto and prosciutto pizza, but other heavy hitters include the Fire on the Mountain, the Northcamp, the Margarita, the buffalo chicken, and the plain ole pepperoni. Their spinach dip (which I got this time but ate before I remembered to take a picture) was rich and absolutely delicious. I love the bruschetta they do as well, and I love to save the extra tomatoes and put it on my pizza crusts. The beer selection is great, I loved the margarita flights, and the atmosphere in there is almost always good, the lights are just sometimes a little bright. I recommend the Brewing Co. to many people who come out of town and consider it to be my favorite wood-fired pizza."
