"Stopped in to buy a couple local shirts or sweaters, got in at 340pm and was immediately welcomed with a "we're closing!" I still wanted to buy something to remember the trip so I asked if they could still do sales. After much hesitation I was given "only if it's card" Okay, could work with that. After looking for about a minute I felt so unwelcome and pressured to leave I just left. Nothing from the staff upon leaving just someone at the door to lock it behind me at 345pm. Shame, it looked like they had some neat stuff."
"This a must for Railroad lovers. I've been coming periodically to Cass for over 40 years. The town has grown up since my last visit and getting tickets especially in the fall can be a challenge. We took the 4 hour Bald knob trip. The views are wonderful. The lunch included in the trip was ham and cheese sandwich, water, Mac salad, applesauce and 2 soft cookies. The trip is 11 miles long up the mountain. You may get soot in your hair if you sit close enough to the engine. They used to have a concession stand halfway up but lack of willing workers to stay isolated forced closure. If you only went on 1 train in your entire life this one is one of the best. I've travelled to 47 states and been on many local train rides but few compare. Sit back and enjoy the nostalgia of a lumber train pushing and pulling you up the mountain."
"Magnificent. Warning: the hike is steep. First set of steps are very very steep...each step is very high from each other. The remainder of the stairs are wooden, have railings and platforms at different elevations. But the natural mist from the Falls creates an extremely slick service on the wood."
