Capital Rhythmics

Capital Rhythmics, located at 14129 Seneca Road in Darnestown, Maryland, is a gym focused on health and fitness. Home to the Capital Rhythmics Team by Capital Stars LLC, the institution boasts Julie Zetlin, a 2012 Olympian and National Champion, among its ranks. Rhythmic Gymnastics, the number one sport for women worldwide, is rapidly growing in popularity in the United States. Unlike artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics combines extreme flexibility, ballet movements, and basic acrobatics while manipulating various apparatus like hoops, balls, clubs, ropes, and ribbons.

Athletes in rhythmic gymnastics require a high degree of athletic skill, including strength, flexibility, agility, dexterity, endurance, and hand-eye coordination. The sport offers lifelong benefits such as improved focus, confidence, and even improved bone health. Rhythmic gymnastics is an Olympic sport, with athletes often transitioning to dance companies or working with choreographers due to their creativity, versatility, unique movement style, discipline, beauty, strength, and maturity.

The Capital Rhythmics team consists of gymnasts aged 6 and up, competing at various levels of training and events throughout the year. A recreational program is also offered for those interested in learning rhythmic gymnastics without competing. Girls as young as 4 years old can enroll in these classes. The institution believes that rhythmic gymnastics provides well-rounded physical development, even for those participating recreationally.
