"DRESSING ROOMS CLOSED This goodwill can be overwhelming, but I can always tell that the employees are trying really hard to keep things organized. Unfortunately you can’t control rude people who throw clothes on the ground, which is very common here and honestly upsetting to see the employees going around just picking them up as if they were cleaning up after a child. I am not happy with goodwill prices. I have donated dollar tree items that ended up being priced for $3.99. This is goodwill cooperation itself that has raised the prices. But honestly I wouldn’t buy something unless it was the color of the day because $8.99 -$10.99 per items is outrageous. Goodwill STOP. These items are DONATED to you. You pay NOTHING. Goodwill has such a bad rep now. It’s all about money. Forget generosity. I have always gone to goodwills regularly but this is going to stop. My items will be donated elsewhere to actually help someone in need. Not rob them of their money. Goodwill, you should be ashamed. Update (5 months later) I appreciate the time for your reply Goodwill, but that doesn’t change the fact that you charge ridiculous prices for used items. Target doesn’t sell broken, used items. If I can buy new items at a cheaper price than I can used goodwill items, then in my opinion, it’s a rip off. People go to goodwill when they can’t afford new items. Went back to see if anything had changed, I think the prices went up even more."
"This store has a great selection and used to be one of my favorite Goodwills. However, like many thrift stores lately, they seem to have forgotten that they get these items for free. I understand that inflation is a thing, but there were multiple dresses for $20 or more, jackets in the $30-$40 range, and dirty torn up old shoes in the $20-$30 range. This is absurd for used items that were donated, and that in many cases had visible damage. Especially seeing as they have now closed down the dressing rooms, so you can’t even see if the stuff fits before paying their ridiculous prices."
"Lots of clothes. Prices are not great for thrift store clothes. Won’t let you try anything on and will only refund store credit which kinda stinks. Had about $200 worth of items wanted to try on before purchase but they said no so I decided not to buy anything at all, just because if the items don’t fit I don’t want $200 worth of credit to the Goodwill store."
"(* 10/09/2023- someone responded to my comment, however, before reading it, I noticed a typo, in my original review,, clicked edit, and the comment was no longer posted below my review after I fixed the error then reposted. Would the person that replied as I requested, please do so again. Sorry. I should proof check before posting...) * Prior to today, I don't recall the date, this occurred- approximately 2-3 wks ago. Everyone, for the most part was friendly and helpful, except for the young man, who may have been a manager. I asked if I could have the 3 items I picked out, at half off, since I was told the colour of the tags just were just half off. I tried to explain my situation- which was humiliating - especially since he couldn't care less and didn't, assist me. if someone, a supervisor or manager, would post a note underneath my review that would kindly assist me, I would very much appreciate it."
"The staff at the Hamilton, NJ Goodwill Store do an amazing job keeping the store clean and well organized. Recently I had a chance to speak with Dave, one of the store managers, and was impressed with how friendly, professional and courteous he was with customers as well as his staff. It's a great place to shop because of everyone's hard work. Well worth the trip."
