"My daughters are both pre-professional dancers, and completed the final 3 years of their student training at EDS. This studio has it all - a huge variety of classes and opportunities (including master teacher guest classes and summer intensives), but the most kind, caring, supportive, knowledgable teachers we have ever known. They continually strive to educate themselves in the most up-to-date dance pedagogy (last summer, 2 teachers spent a good chunk of time getting certified in Progressing Ballet Technique), but more importantly - they truly support EACH AND EVERY dancer at the studio. From the tiniest minis in combo classes to the Elite competition team, these teachers are always there for their students. They provide shoulders to cry on (ANY TIME night or day - way above and beyond!!), excellent advice for dance and personal growth and development, recommendations for injury treatment and recovery, and a slew of other services that are NOT part of their job description. They write college recommendations, help with homework, advocate for healthy/allergen friendly food choices at competitions and conventions, drive students to competitions and conventions, provide service hours and training and work opportunities for those students interested in earning hours (or money :)...I could go on and on. If you are curious about the culture at this studio, all you would have to do is look through photos of recital, competitions, and banquets. You will see there is not a dry eye in the house. These dancers are a FAMILY - they love and support each other through thick and thin, and that is 100% due to the amazing teachers at Elite Dance Studio and Supply. We are so grateful to have had them on our "team" these past few years."
"I am 13 and I have been dancing for 11 years and 9 of those years were spent at elite. this year is my second year on the competition team and turning into a competitive dancer has been the best decision I've ever made. my favorite part about elite is there community. pre covid-19 I would stay at the studio with my friends and eat dinner. I still do this now but in a safe corona-friendly way. I am very close with all my teachers and I have privates with one of them every week. these private lessons allow me to excel in stuff I'm good at and work on stuff I'm struggling with. pointe class is hard but really helps me work on my ballet technique. jazz class is one of my favorite classes because we work on tricks and can express ourselves in any way we want. lyrical class is my favorite style because of the way you can put emotion into your dancing. ballet is very technical and is the class you need the most discipline for. competition class is always the class I'm most excited to go to because we learn choreography as soon as we get to class. I would highly recommend sending your child to elite dance studio."
"Perfectly mediocre. Our interactions with teachers and management was consistently worthwhile and enjoyable. However, any and all communication or interaction with the owner was difficult, confusing, nasally and incredibly condescending. This was ultimately the deciding factor in leaving the studio after 2 years of trying to look past the patronizing interactions. I wanted my daughter to attend a school where she would be appreciated as an athlete, and not as a guaranteed monthly payment. Unfortunately, towards the end it started to feel like a visit to The Cheesecake Factory -- a great place to visit with friends, lots of fun while you're there, but the menu is really just pages of verbose, greasy, overpriced filler and you will end up with a stomachache trying to digest it all."
"I took my doughter to the first lessons of ballet/Tap combo. And I went to do my monthly payment, and when I got details receipt I found out that there was some late fee and other fees and get surprised. When I asked what is this late fee, they explained me that you did it online and we had to charged it. After that I understood that they making money for some fees and pressing the parents to buy some dancing dresses from them. I would like to mention that the dance teachers are not professional at all. And at once I disappointed from that place and I will recommend everybody not to go to that non professional place."
"My daughter is now six years old and she spent two years at Elite in the combo classes (ballet/tap). She wants to continue ballet, but we won't be doing it with Elite. As a parent it was made clear time and time again that I am just a check or a credit card to the management. The lobbies and pick up/ drop off are extremely crowded with parents and horrible temperature control. You have zero opportunity to view what your child is learning and you get no individual feedback on your child. There are a token camera and tv where parents can supposedly see what's going on in the dance studio. My experience, however, is that that's a joke. Camera shows one very limited spot where your child may or may not pass in front the whole class time. When I sent management a communication letting them know my concerns they made it clear that was absolutely not their concern. Lump it. The whole year is geared toward the recital which is not an event I want to raise my children believing is normal in the world view. It is the epitome of waste. Both years my daughter's costume was around $80. They do not reuse costumes from year to year. Some girls are in three, four or more dances in the recital. I believe the ownership has an interest in the costume company. We are talking tens and tens of thousands of dollars here just in costumes, much less ticket sales where tickets are $20 plus dollars a piece and everyone needs a ticket to enter including younger siblings who could sit on your lap. They put on three recitals back to back and a lot of the older girls repeat their dances and are in multiple dances. Be prepared to sit for a long 2 and a half hours to see your beginner in her 2 minute little dance. I want my daughter to experience the beauty of ballet. Going to be searching for some ballet lessons more pure to love of the dance. If you like being nothing more than a dollar sign and being treated as if they are doing you a favor, then this is the school for you."
