Reviews of Fit2Shine Studio
"I was super bummed when my old barre studio closed down, but have really enjoyed coming to Fit2Shine! All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and I love that they are offering more barre classes now. I’ve also really enjoyed the yoga classes. Highly recommend!"
"I am a regular at this fitness studio and I recently took the Free Your Feet workshop with Kelly. It was a game changer for my feet which chronically hurt from years of wearing heels, recent swelling, and plantar fasciitis. I can’t believe the difference and the relief I feel in the soles of my feet. I will definitely be back for future workshops and my regular yoga classes."
"My family loves Fit2Shine! Our kids have attended the elementary age yoga classes for months, in addition to the Parents’ Night Out events. Their favorite summer camp is Fit2Shine! Kelly teaches children about yoga principles of kindness and self-love, in addition to how to calm anxiety. We are very lucky to have this studio in New Market. Everyone should check it out!"
"I love Fit2Shine. All of the instructors are amazing, and I love being able to take yoga and cycle classes at the same place. I didn't even think I would like cycling, but Fit2Shine made me a convert. Everyone there is so welcoming and encouraging. I highly recommend trying them out. I did the two-week trial and took as many classes as I could in that time, and I knew I had found the right place."
"I was excited to hear that a yoga studio was coming back to Main Street. The previous studio closed before I had an opportunity to give it a chance. Before I begin, I think it's appropriate to give you a little bit about my background... I am a very active individual: powerlifting, CrossFit, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Olympic weightlifting, and running. I also volunteer as a firefighter in the county. It goes without saying that my body takes a beating. As I get older, recovering from my active lifestyle tends to get tougher. That's where I find the biggest benefit to yoga. I know there are many men out there who have preconceived assumptions about yoga - it's too feminine, too hippie, it's "just stretching", etc. I can personally testify to the contrary. Becoming more mobile/flexible has actually helped with my performance in the aforementioned sports. I also believe that being able to manipulate your own body weight with control through the various poses is a definite test of strength and mental fortitude. All of that said, the folks over at Fit2Shine recognize those same benefits beyond the typical status quo approach to yoga. The space is very inviting and warm. The staff makes you feel welcomed regardless whether you are new to the practice or a seasoned practitioner. I highly recommend taking Elizabeth's heated vinyasa or power yoga class. Her teaching style is very insightful and felt personalized. She asked what aches or areas of my body that may be an issue. I told her about the sports I am involved in and she was able to pick up a lot about how my body moves and made the appropriate corrections to my form as a result. SOOOOO I would highly recommend this place to anyone, particularly those looking to try yoga for the first time. I would also challenge more MEN to step out of their comfort zone and leave their assumptions at the door. Do you want to prove your strength? Come take a class, it's more than "just stretching". It will humble you but the long term benefits will outweigh your bruised pride. Thank you to Fit2Shine for providing the space to practice without judgement, with folks who are accepting to invite others to join in on the journey."
