Reviews of King Shooters Supply
"Hi Pat. I apologize in advance for the length of this review. Please respond as to when I can call to speak with you. Here's the background...1. In November before orderering a suppressor from Aero Precision (Lahar 30) I called your store to verify Silencer Shop was accurate in telling me I could make the purchase, ship it to you and have it added to my Silencer Shop account via the kiosk in your location to complete the "form 4". It was confirmed as accurate info. Great! Suppressor ordered. 2. I received notification on 1/4 from Aero that the suppressor was delivered to King Shooters. 3. Giving it a few days to be checked in, etc., I called on 1/7 at 1:15p to ask how to proceed. I was told to call back after 2:00p on 1/8 to speak with Pat. No problem! 4. At 2:30p on 1/8 I called and was told you weren't available. Okay. My contact information was taken and was told you would call me. Understood. Folks are busy! 5. I never received a call. 6. Being a very patient man and waiting weeks, on 1/24 at 1:02p I gave it another shot. During that call I was transferred to a second employee who I thought finally would clarify next steps. Unfortunately, only my contact info was collected and once again was told "Pat" would call me. 7. Today, 1/31 at 3:15p I called, explained the situation and requested some help on how to get the can information placed into my SS account. I was asked to hold but hung up on or simply and accidentally disconnected. I called back at 3:17p but no answer. I called back at 3:18p and connected with a different employee. I was told no one was available to speak. My contact information was taken yet again and told someone would call me back. As of the drafting of this review, 6:03p, no one has called. Am I allowed to be frustrated yet??? Some readers of this review might be curious as to why I have given two stars vs one. The other star results from my experience during my other can purchase via Silencer Shop. I have to give credit where it's due. The kiosk process was fantastic--including the staff who helped complete my profile on the kiosk. He was great! Sorry that I do not remember his name. The in-person pick-up not so much. Akin to the demeanor of most employees over the phone, the person who completed my in-person pick-up certification seemed as though I was a bother, a burden, and acted generally unpleasant. My three sons who were with me noted the same vibe. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that the staff are not there to become my buddy. But come on, customer service 101 typically results in at least "some" level of friendly banter and at least professional decorum. This person stated that he unfortunately drew the short straw and had to handle my form 4 certification. Sorry you had to help me. Sorry the ATF requires this. Sorry that my pleasantries were unsuccessful in uplifting your mood. As a 50 something year old former Marine, I've had my fair share of experiences with unpleasant folks. Believe you me! I have thick skin and am extremely patient. However, I am also a firm believer in keeping one's word and equally important, providing solid customer service. In this case, I'd been happy with a return call. Unlike other negative reviews, I'm not suggesting discrimination due to my race, age, gender, height, weight or any other physical characteristics. In fact, that garbage just gets in my crawl. I am simply sharing facts, timeliness and failure of follow through. Personally, this appears to be a lack of repect overall. I digress."
"I’m always a little bit happier after a visit to King’s. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. They’re committed to safety and education. Every time I’ve had a question or need, they go above and beyond. It’s because of coming here that I went from looking into getting a firearm, to owning, having a carry permit, and being proficient in using it. Joe is kind and has a lot of legal knowledge and a great sense of humor. Great storyteller. Pat and Roger are welcoming and oversee every detail. It’s because of Pat’s encouragement, that I went to my first group lesson. I’ll always be grateful for that! Don remembers everybody and is the nicest and most generous person. He greets everyone with a smile. If you can make Will laugh, you get a prize. He is usually very serious and makes sure things are done by the book. Everyone asks Anthony for advice, and he usually does know the answer. His favorite words are “dry fire”. Dave teaches there and he is a great teacher who pays a lot of attention to detail. Especially knowledgeable about sights. Brian has instructed me in group lessons a few times. He was quickly able to improve my performance and has a great way of explaining technique that helps everyone. I’m missing a few people, but everyone there has been a lot of help. There’s no lack of support, if you want it, when you go to King’s. Safety brought me there, and the way that things are done, is what keeps me there."
"My first vibes in this place were not great. It was busy and they couldn't help me that day. I wound up booking a class for the following day but then when I showed up dude told me I wasn't in until next week. I went home, found my receipt I was there when they told me to be, someone put it in there book wrong. Instead of working with me the person just told me to cone back even though they could have also looked at my paper work and actually been helpful.I was extremely disappointed and was seeking a refund. I had a conversation with Pat (one of the owners)and we worked out our issue. I went back in and took a 30 min lesson. It was a great experience, fired off about 10 rounds. Now what gives it the 5 stars for me was my first office visit solo to range. I shot 100 rounds through 4 different 9mm in an hour. It was so much fun! I got a vibe for what I want to purchase down the line. I can't wait to go back and try a few more before I buy something!"
"Looking at some of the other reviews, I’m amazed at how needy some shooters are. Listen, we don’t need the range operators to be our best friends and welcome us in the door like Norm at Cheers. I need a place to shoot safely for a decent price. Check. Oh and they’re a Silencer Shop kiosk? Beautiful! And they have a full service store with all kinds of goodies? Check check!"
"The best range in the area. Everyone are chill and kind unlike most of the range in Philadelphia region. This is my go to for shooting range and price is reasonable (20 dollars an hour) although you can go to most of the range up north philly for 20 dollar + unlimited time. Will definitely come back."
