"My recent experience at GCMC Hospital's emergency room on 12/13 was disappointing. My mother was placed in the hallway due to the unavailability of rooms. Unfortunately, during this time, I overheard a doctor discussing a patient's passing in a loud and insensitive manner. Not only did this lack professionalism and respect for patient privacy, but the doctor's remark about their own bedside manners was concerning. After noticing my facial expressing about his comments of a patient passing he turned to a coworker and said jokingly “I don’t have any bedside manners.” The situation was already stressful, and the behavior of this doctor made it more uncomfortable. It's crucial for hospital staff to exhibit sensitivity and professionalism, especially in such sensitive environments. I hope Geisinger Hospital considers providing additional training in bedside manners and emphasizing the importance of patient privacy to ensure a more compassionate and respectful environment for all patients and families."
"This place should be criminally charged for neglecting us patients!! If it wasn’t for my mother, being right there to help me calm down, I would have had a heart attack and died. I had to go to this ER for really bad panic attack. I was stuck in that waiting room For well over an hour and a half before finally being seen. Thankfully, they allowed my mother to come back to help keep me calm, but they didn’t really do anything to help Keep me calm.. And when I had a really bad anxiety attack after getting some blood work , they didn’t do anything to calm me down either when I was having a really bad anxiety attack. This was the most horrible experience I ever had. And now I am left traumatized by this for the rest of my life. What is wrong with this place? I am very dissatisfied and am never likely going to come here again. And to make matters worse, it wasn’t very clean. If I could give zero stars for this, I would"
"We had a family member that had to come to this ER twice. Not only did we sit in the ER for 6+ hours but once you actually get in they just throw you in a loud busy hallway in a bed. If you think you’re going to get a room, think again. In the hallway all they did was have someone slide over their rolling computer to make sure your insurance was all good. We have incredible health insurance. Don’t EVER think you’re going to get quality care here. This place is DISGUSTING ethically. The place can also use a good cleaning. If you look for a second the floors are filthy. This is part of the great American healthcare scam. If you can make it do yourself a favor and have someone take you to New York or Philadelphia. This place takes your money and pushes you back out into the street. Horrible. Disgusting. They should be ashamed."
"I give them 0 stars! My mom was transferred to the ICU here for treatment because of no open beds at GWV. I didn't want her to go here in the first place. She spent a week in ICU. Then they sent her to PCU for a week where her health declined rapidly. The doctors failed to save her and wouldn't let us transfer her to another hospital. But they had no problem sending her to hospice. She never regained consciousness to talk to us and passed a few days later. I don't trust their hospital "doctors" and neither should you. Stay away from this poor excuse for a hospital!"
