"I do not appreciate how my dog was treated here. At first glance this is a state of the art facility that offers various treatment options such as physical therapy for dogs. Ginger who works in this department 10/10. On the other hand the male nurses and doctors on nights not so much. They act uncomfortable with dogs and as if they do not want to be at work. The male nurse who was taking my dog to the back for X-rays could not get my dog to go with him because he was so uncomfortable doing his job, working with animals. Instead of having someone else try to take him to the back or allowing me to go with him they placed us in a treatment room. Despite us being the only patients that night they took long amounts of time catering to us even though my dog was in severe pain. They failed to communicate proper treatment plans. They simply did not control the environment or want to be there. We will never come back."
"It’s great to have a 24 hour animal hospital nearby, and the care team do a good job. I just think they could be doing a bit better. The Care Center team needs to learn how to be more empathetic with folks who seek their help and be as up front and truthful about how they handle and work with animals who are sick but do not have life threatening injuries. My dog had cut open her belly while playing in the woods and required stitches as she had a 1-2 inch cut. I arrived in at 1pm on Sunday and waited for 4 hours before she was examined. Then was presented with a price quote. They said it would be best for me to leave her there and told me they would call back when ready for pickup. Also it’s really sad to be waiting at hospital. It’s not a fun happy place to be at. So if they suggest leaving, I’d take their advice! Unfortunately there is a constant stream of incoming patients, many of whom have critical wounds to be addressed. So if your animal doesn’t have a life threatening wound, then you will be waiting a long time. It took them about 18 hours to get my dog stitched up."
"The Care Center is a great facility for your pets. We had our dog Mabel there and due to her condition, we lost her that day. It was an incredibly tough day! The staff was caring and compassionate. I want to thank the Care Center employees, especially Dr. Brittany Koether for being with Mabel and our family. Dr. Koether is a true professional!"
"Last night my cat Leroy started having seizures and tremors after having a reaction to flea and tick treatment. The seizures were constant for about an hour. After 20 minutes I was scared and called Care Center Cincinnati at about 9 pm and explained what was going on. They advised to bring him in immediately. I hopped in my car while holding Leroy so he wouldn’t hurt himself. It was a 20 minute drive to the office. As soon as I got there a nurse was waiting at the front desk and could see him seizing in my arms. They grabbed him from me and yelled back that it was active seizures. They inserted an IV immediately and started giving him meds for seizures and to stop the muscle tremors. The doctor came into the room shortly after and explained what was going on and what the plan of care was. They needed to admit him to continue to give meds to get everything under control. Also his body temp was very high due to the constant shaking tremors and seizures. They were going to give him meds to cool him off as well to prevent any brain damage. I put the deposit down when I got home as I forgot my wallet in the rush to get him to the vet and they understood that and admitted him on my word that I would pay. This morning I got a text update from the doctor treating him today and he said that Leroy was doing a lot better and could possibly go home later today. I appreciate they text and call with any updates. Helps me not worry so much with constant communication. It’s expensive don’t get me wrong but pet emergencies tend to cost a good amount of money but it’s justified for great care and communication. I would do anything for my pets and am glad they are taking such great care of my baby. Update: I brought Leroy home this evening. They were spot on with the time frame of 24 hours in the hospital and the quoted price was what I paid. He is home resting in my lap right now. If I ever needed to bring an animal to the er for an emergency again I wouldn’t hesitate to use care center again. Thank you for saving my kitten and for the great work you did."
"I would never wish anyone to have a pet emergency but if you did I can highly recommend the Care Center of Cincinnati. We were unfortunate to need their services very unexpectedly and every employee from the time we arrived until we, unfortunately had to euthanize our pet, was so kind and attentive. A few days later we didn't just receive a hand written sympathy card, they had taken the time to make ink impressions of her paw and nose and sent it to us along with the card, so we would have a part of her with us. I can't say it was a pleasant experience just because of the nature of why we were there, however, the staff and doctors there made it much easier and I truly believe they did all they could for our sweet Lilo before she passed. Thank you."
