Shogun Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi

"Reservations were made for 6:30 to be a surprise birthday party. They were informed of this at time of reservation. The birthday girl and here husband were to arrive at 6:45. At 6:30 we told them were were all there except the birthday girl and her husband. They told us that they do not seat groups until everyone is there. They were told of the "surprise " at time of reservation and said no problem but now there was. They stated that reservations were held for 15min and if they did not arrive they would be canceled. At 6:35 they gave our table away. The birthday girl arrived at 6:40 and they had no table. It was almost 7 when a group left and we got a table. The staff had a really crappy attitude. As far as food, sushi was crap. Sushi better at Giant grocery store. I'm glad I ordered the scallops, not much flavor but at least you got a few. Those that ordered steak were less than pleased for what they were charged. I've seen breakfast steaks that were better. So you get the meat you ordered and the rice. The rice had some scrambled eggs mixed in then piled on your plate. They were flavorless. Pretty much everyone in our group of 20 stated they will never return. A lot more better options around."

"My friend and I go once a week. She enjoys the sushi sampler, and I enjoy the hibachi. My steak is always tender and seasoned well. The cocktails are very good, with a great selection to choose from. We just love the staff, as they always go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. It's a great restaurant overall!!!"

"My group of 21 folks had our own private room for the meal experience. It was interesting to see the differences in the way the 2 chefs and 2 servers worked their part of the room. I think it is slightly challenging for the chef when some folks want their steak cooked medium rare and others want it well done. I don't think there was much difference with the end results...which disappointed some. It was a fun time on New Years Eve and we shared lots of laughs and conversations."

"Always a solid option for sushi/hibachi. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the dynamite roll. The pad thai tasted great, but I wish it had a tad bit more peanut flavor. The chicken was slightly dry but I know how hard it is to avoid that when the chicken is sliced so thin. The dynamite roll tasted great. Creamy on top but still firm below. The rolls were huge too. I’ll be coming back to try more from here! Our server was fantastic as well and had great customer service skills"
