"First visit to this place. Staff was friendly but service was a bit slow of which I contribute to them just opening and getting into the swing of things. At the end of our meal after waiting ten minutes with obvious plates empty and pushed aside, we ended up having to ask for our check. The food was decent. Ordered the Shitake mushrooms as an appetizer. When they arrived they were hot but were very chewy as if they had been fried for too long. Tried the Truffle Oil Ramen. The noodles were a great consistency (more on the al dente side), the broth was good and was a good temperature to start eating right away and the taste was really good, albeit a little saltier than a miso/pork based only ramen would be. Overall, was pleased with the initial visit and am giving some leeway as to the service/food until my next visit when I'll update again."
"Delicious authentic Ramen !!! Staff was very nice and the food was outstanding :)"
"I’ve eaten here twice this week. Had spicy fried chicken ramen and then a cheese fried pork rice dish. Both were delicious but the ramen meal was exceptional. I have not tried the appetizers so I can’t comment on those. But both of my main courses were delicious. This place is a gem in Purcellville"
"Been keeping an eye on this place to open for about half a year. They finally opened yesterday. I went in the next day with the wife and daughter. I was expecting better. I thought it is going to be an authentic ramen place. The appetizers were disappointing. The truffle fries are frozen bagged fries sprinkled with truffle dust and Parmesan cheese. The friend oysters also frozen food fried and put in a plate with some green cabbage and carrot spaghetti. For $16 I was expecting better fried oysters. The breading was too much and a liquid would squirt out of the fried oyster upon bitting out of it. The ramen itself was….fine. Tonkotsu broth was very close to the miso broth and just a bit more oily. Tonkatsu should be white-ish in color and thicker since it supposed to be a pork bone marrow broth, but it was not. Not even close to the tonkatsu I am used to. I was excited to have a ramen place in town so I won’t make the trip to Zen Ramen in Berryville any longer but after trying Koyo, I think I’ll stick to traveling in Berryville. Maybe it is just the rough few weeks after opening. I’ll give Koyo another try a few months from now. At the moment, quite dissatisfied….i won’t give bad stars rating since they are at the beginning and I don’t want to hurt a local business."
"So glad there is a ramen restaurant in town! This had been place long awaited for and it did not disappoint. We stopped in an hour prior to closing time and were warmly greeted! I ordered the spicy misio with fried chicken and my boyfriend ordered the Koyo Ramen. Both were great and delicious. Both dishes were delicious and packed with flavor and you could taste each type of seasoning. They didn’t load the ramen with a bunch of add in like most places which is great! The Karaage chicken app was delicious, fried with a perfect crunch. The fried chicken was flavorful and the side mayo sauce was finger licking good! I can’t wait to try it again and bring family and friends. One suggestion, the ramen included a regular hard boiled egg instead of a seasoned ramen egg, which would’ve completed the ramen taste! But other than that, it was super yummy!"
