"If you don't advocate for your self and push you get no where. ER staff has no sense of urgency what so ever. Close to zero communication and support and to note over 8 hours with no results. Only person I've seen to communicate with other than techs to take my partner to CT and xray was a lady Stocking supplies. She bold face stared at me while I was wide awake and said nothing as she came in the room like she didn't exist. Front desk lady was miserable. Then a man fell into cardiac arrest and wasn't responding. Only one nurse had some sense and timeliness as she performed cpr everyone else moved slower than sin while in between compressions she had to yell at everyone to move. Like life or death people and yall kickback for the paycheck. I can go on and on as there are other instances where even my self was admitted with a seizure and not until my partner mentioned my history with bleeds and strokes did they rush me back. I was then hospitalized for 4 days. I even have family who refuses to come here due to poor care and mal practice. It's a joke in here. Some great staff don't get it twisted, but the majority are not worth the time. Makes you not have faith in the system."
"Visiting hours are a joke. They are not realistic for the working class especially when they work/live almost an hour away. Overnight patients should have someone there to help advocate for their care . Additionally, the nurses change around 7 pm so families have no clue who is taking care of their loved one while they are not there. Also, no visitors under 12 .. you have parents in there for over a week not being able to see their child who would be supervised. If they cause a major issue, ask them to leave don’t punish every family."
"Hospice was brought in for my mother in law to have a peaceful passing and she said she was ready to go after all her health struggles. Her nurse was given instructions from Hospice of how to issue the Morpine which started about 4pm. During the process, my MIL’s alarm with her IV was going off later in the evening. The nurse came in and moved the cord for the IV to her shoulder and it stopped for a bit but then started again. This happened quite a few times. Then there was a shift change around 11pm. The IV alarm with the new nurse was going off again. This nurse went in and actually checked the IV port with saline and found out it was blocked so she wasn’t getting the meds she should have been for hours. So so upsetting. This nurse did fix the IV thank God but definitely not a good experience with the first nurse. I was going to give 1 star but then the second nurse did solve the problem. It’s been over 16 hours and she’s struggling. I hope she will find peace in this next hour or two."
"My mother was admitted yesterday morning after passing out at the bedside of my father who was extremely ill. My father was moved to the 4th floor where the staff was very professional and caring. The er staff gave my mother pills prescribed from chart 20 years ago. A nurse gave her aspirin. When she said my heart Dr told me never to take aspirin with my other blood thinner, the nurse said" put it in your mouth and chew it." She did not receive lunch. Supper wasn't delivered until 6pm.. The lack of proper medication caused her blood pressure to rise at some pts it was as high as 200/167. When my mother said her leg hurt from laying for hours in uncomfortable bed, a tech grabbed her foot in both hands and pushed with all her weight. She said " this is what I do for my dad's Charlie horses" .Mom had a hip replacement not a Charlie horse. Screams from my mom did not stop the abuse. It took 45 minutes for help to the bathroom in the middle of the night..Finally , after 30 hours family members issued the ultimatum. Move her upstairs or get her discharge papers. There were two nice nurses who helped my father walk down the hall to see his wife of 70 years. And mom said someone named Ricky was very helpful. The rest of the staff was pretty much rude, incompetent or lazy.My parents are old but not senile they know when they are being mistreated."
"I think the ER doctors are very nice and friendly. The best ones work in the evening. I wish I knew the name of the IV antibiotic that Dr. Trump gave me but I couldn't find it in my records. It really helped me a lot. I had a infection at the time. The older doctors are nicer and more experienced. You can work with them better to help you Never be too afraid to give out antibiotics because it saves lives! They really don't teach doctors about sepsis in school and how it doesn't show up in medical tests so it's not their fault! I don't blame them at all"
