Willow Springs Golf Course

"The nicest people that could ever run a golf course. Too often you have crotchety old men gatekeeping mediocre courses. Not this one. The course was in pretty bad shape, but who cares when you can get a 16oz beer and supreme cheeseburger for $10 AND nobody is playing behind you."

"Honestly, the course was pretty much perfect except for the greens, which had some dead patches on every green but because it's winter, it's reasonable and the green is still playable. The staff are all very friendly, way better than the arrogant staff in many courses in Northern VA. The course layout is actually nice too, being much better than I expected. The scenery is great, with scattered ponds and streams throughout the course (mainly near the clubhouse) and in fine condition on the fairways and roughs. Also is less noisier than I thought, considering it being right next to I-70."

"9/5/2023 review. Course in terrible condition, poor value at $42. Used to be a nice practice track at $25. They're trying to make it a genuine Executive course, but greens and tees would require complete renovation to achieve this. At least the snack bar has re-opened. Traps had weeds growing in them. Greens had crabgrass, poa annua and fungus patches. Tee boxes were worse; bring your hammer. Fairways resemble brown concrete, yet ALL par-3's are cart path only! Very poor drainage; any rain whatsoever creates swamp-like conditions. 11/16/2023 Update. Upgraded to 3 stars. Greens and traps still awful, but cooler weather has greatly improved fairways and tees. Fair value now at $25/9 and $35/18 (with cart). Decent practice track and surprisingly difficult from Blues."

"Terrible maintenance and no customer service. This is my first and last time here. The course maintenance is horrendous. Plenty of leaves and twigs on the putting greens with brown patches and it’s not even fall yet!! If you hate hitting off the tees, dont worry, youre alrdy hitting from the rough in the tee box(with a tee). At 3pm on a saturday, they had no cart girls and noone behind the snack bar at the pro shop. The only time we saw the cart girl was at the turn. Not going back again."

"Everyone there is really nice and the course is a lot of fun. BUT, it needs to be maintained better the sand is hard packed and has weeds growing in it and the greens are not very smooth, but the worst is the sprinklers. If you go early there will be huge sprinklers literally on the greens spraying water all over them as you're trying to play. You will get soaked and the greens are soaked and there will be puddles all over them"
