Hotel Lombardy

"I love this place. It's the second time I've stayed here - the last time was about 7 years ago (!!) but the staff are why you should stay. I like old hotels, and it definitely has a quirky charm. It could stand to be updated (as someone mentioned the TVs are circa 2005), but it is clean and probably the friendliest place you will find in DC. I had ordered a package that needed to be refrigerated and when I arrived late at night, the valet had already put it in the fridge in my room! I also ordered a package that arrived after I left and the staff kept it and agreed to ship it should I send them a label. Where else could you find that level of service? Location cannot be beat - close to a Whole Foods, a series of restaurants, in walking distance to several metro lines. The room I had felt sort of like living in my own apartment, which I enjoyed. Definitely stay here! I'll come back when I'm on business in DC 100%."

"First, let me say it was CLEAN, a true rarity since COVID. It is a beautiful hotel and a great experience. The owners have done a good job of updating it enough to be functional, but still keep the old world charm. The shower had high pressure and plenty of hot water, and a full array of pillows from one as thick and firm as our cube pillows, to very soft. There are not microwaves in the rooms, and it's a little skimpy on outlets, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There is a restaurant in the motel - small, classy and pricy. There are other restaurants close by...a coffee shop with some real food...(for five coffee roasters?)definitely not fast or cheap, but delicious! And another restaurant across the corner that looks more affordable, but didn't open early enough for us. We parked in the Ronald Reagan parking garage and brought the metro over. It worked quite well."

"Stay elsewhere. The shower would not drain, the room took hours to warm up and worst of all, I was charged for two nights for no reason. It's taken multiple calls, emails, and follow ups and I still don't have the money I should. Location is fine enough, but don't stay here unless you really have to."

"The hotel is older but very beautiful , charming and decorated accordingly , take it for what it is , if you want a warm and charming place to experience Washington then this is your place. If this place is not your style then stay at the ritz and pay 4 -6 times more per night ! By the way i was able to park on the street for a fraction of the cost of any garage in the area or valet."
