"I'm getting my Master's here now.. On the website, it says MU has awards for being "VETERAN FRIENDLY." There's nothing friendly about it though. I showed orders to the registrars office to drop classes and they denied me lol!! That's against the law but they didn't care. Also, they give special treatment for anyone playing sports, HOWEVER if you're on military orders, they won't work with you... I'm not asking for special treatment, I just want to be able to take the same tests as everyone else before/after I get back from being on orders... I can't help but be on orders.. NOT "Military friendly" VERY liberal/dem- that's why they have "no weapons" signs up everywhere."
"The campus Police and Security DON'T KNOW THE LAW here. NC Statute states § 14-269.2 section (K) if you have concealed carry handgun holder, you can keep your handgun in your car. These officers have made statements that "No one can have guns on campus, to include federal officers and deputies." The security here is power hungry and it is scary because they will call the police on you for legally carrying a firearm in your car... Legally... If you don't know, when the police hear "firearm on campus" they come guns out and ready, regardless of the law. I saw the other comments on here about security and it's true. Be careful around the security and law enforcement on this campus. The clerk at the police station stated the same thing "No firearms on campus! Even if they are licensed or with another agency." Which again, is not the case."
"I fear for my safety at MU as the security and police here do not understand or know the laws. I have been going here for four years now and I have relayed these concerns to higher that do nothing. The Chief of Police and his staff only give me the runaround about my concerns. I have concerns here as I am not able to protect myself and the security and police here misunderstand the laws. Especially the laws that are posted on campus."
"Wonderful opportunities to be gained here! The campus is self contained but connected to the local community. The Music and PA programs are top notch."
