"We got a stay for our sisters in laws' Christmas present. Lucia was very accommodating through rescheduling and a few miscommunications. They loved the room and champagne service. My sister in law is gluten free and had no complaints. Thank you!"

"The owner, Lucia, is a wonderful hostess, and her breakfasts are truly outstanding. Eggs cooked just for you, plus many other tasty options. The building is historic, but has all the modern conveniences I needed. Many restaurants and interesting neighborhoods to explore within a short walk, also the zoo and Dumbarton Oaks. Very close to Hilton on Conn Ave NW. Will be back."

"I booked this historic B & B just for convenience for a conference, but it ended up being a highlight of my three days in DC. What an historic gem, and such lovely staff! The mattress was so comfortable, and the air conditioning was just perfect in this fresh, clean B & B, despite the 100 degree temperatures outside. I also loved the fact that only registered guests were allowed in with their assigned door code. It made me feel very safe as a single female traveler. This is within easy walking distance of my favorite restaurants in Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan."

"My girlfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our 1 year. Our room was on the top floor, and the walk up to the room felt like a museum. Each floor had really cool portraits of different presidents. The room itself felt very cozy, and the romance package with champagne and fruit really set the mood. Lucia is a great host. Along with cooking us breakfast, there are many other treats like muffins, banana bread, bowls of fruit, yogurt etc. for one to enjoy. Would definitely recommend American Guest House to friends and family, and would consider staying here again."

"American Guest House is the absolute best Bed and Breakfast in DC! I stayed in very nice room for 2 nights while I dropped my kid off at Georgetown. The morning breakfast and coffee couldn’t have been better served in the building’s historic dining room. The owner of the B&B made the stay extra special with her personal attention to detail. 5 BIG stars and I look forward to staying there again on my next trip to DC!"
