Army ROTC at the University of Maryland, located in College Park, Maryland, is dedicated to educating, training, and inspiring cadets to become leaders of character. Our Terrapin Battalion has a strong reputation for producing top-tier Officers through our diverse training opportunities, leadership development programs, internships in the Washington D.C. area, and established networks.

Participating in Army ROTC allows you to train to become an officer while still enjoying a traditional college experience. There is no obligation to join the Army during your freshman and sophomore years. In addition to excellent leadership training, ROTC can also help pay for your college tuition.

Our cadets have the opportunity to attend Army Specialty Schools such as Airborne and Air Assault, providing valuable experiences and a head start in their Army careers. Through Army ROTC, cadets can travel to locations like Morocco, Germany, and Hawaii while receiving payment. Programs such as DoD internships, CTLT, and Project GO offer cadets the chance to work, learn, and study abroad, building important connections for their future careers.
